Perfect for a romantic getaway for two, or a special holiday for four, you're sure to love this beautifully designed, dog friendly retreat. Step inside to discover the open plan living space, with a stylish kitchen area, complete with everything you might need for rustling up supper (plus that all-important wine cooler!), a wonderful wooden table for sociable suppers, a Smart TV, and a comfortable sofa to sink into after a day of adventures, with a lovely wood-burner for those cosy evenings in. Of course, we can't forget to mention the enchanting views across to the river! Slide open the doors and step out to the lawned space in front of the lodge, where you can enjoy the Devon sunshine.
There are two pretty bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is decorated in pastel green and pink tones, with a sumptuous bed which can either be a super-king or a twin. Bedroom 1 has the use of the luxurious bathroom, just perfect for unwinding with a leisurely soak at the end of the day. Bedroom 2 is a lovely super-king room, with glass doors ideal for enjoying the glorious river views. The en suite shower-room to bedroom 2 is divine, with gorgeous blue tiles and a spacious shower.
Head outside, and you'll find the lovely, sheltered decking area, with a cheerful yellow dining-table and chairs; a great spot for perching with your morning coffee and soaking up the fresh country air. You'll find a barbecue here too, in the warmer months, ideal for those sun-soaked summer nights dining al fresco. And with both a southerly and westerly outlook, you can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset here too!
Galmpton Creek Hideaway is one of five fabulous retreats which enjoy their very own piece of heaven within this magical spot with uninterrupted views across the fields and river Dart. Access to this gated area is found by meandering through the equally picturesque and very tranquil Galmpton touring park. Via restricted and private access, you will find Galmpton Creek hideaway tucked away, enjoying nothing but endless countryside and waterside views.
Galmpton Creek is proud to boast it's an eco-friendly getaway, crafted from sustainably sourced Red Cedar with a sedum roof to encourage wildflowers and wildlife. There are also ground source heat pumps and electric car charging points installed. The owners have put in place a number of initiatives to protect the local environment, including creating over 350 metres of habitation for bats and other wildlife, planting trees and a range of plant species to provide for bees and other wildlife, and conserving a badger set.
There's plenty to discover in this special part of the world. Spend a blissful afternoon paddleboarding on the river and enjoying a leisurely wander along the riverbanks. The local village of Galmpton has a number of shops to pick up supplies and pay a visit to the local pub. If you fancy an adventure, you certainly won't be short of them! You're in a fantastic location for exploring south Devon, with its beautiful golden sand beaches, miles of coast path, watersports and the delightful towns and villages of Brixham, Salcombe, Totnes and Kingsbridge. Take the passenger ferry over to Dartmouth for a wonderful day out, a fantastic town with plenty of eateries, independent shops, and two gorgeous coves. A shorter ferry ride will take you to the quaint riverside village of Dittisham, where you'll find places to eat and drink. For a spot of crabbing with the kids, head to Stoke Gabriel, stopping at the River Shack for a spot of well-deserved lunch. If you fancy delving into history and literature, Agatha Christie's favoured holiday home, Greenway is just moments away.
