What was once the milking parlour is now a gorgeous place for you to recharge and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Located in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, you will be surrounded by stunning country views which will make it hard for you to leave at the end of your stay.
The Shippon is an open plan cottage and has a kitchen kitted out with everything you will need for your holiday, including a gas hob, gas cooker a washing machine/drier and dishwasher. There is a small table for two to sit at while enjoying your meal together or plan the day's adventures. The living area has a comfortable sofa making this the perfect spot to snuggle down and watch a film as the wood-burner crackles away in the background.
The bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed with views from the window looking over the decking and the rolling countryside. The shower-room is located off the hall by the front door and has a shower, mind the step into the shower, alongside the wash-basin and WC.
Onto the private decking where you can find the garden furniture and charcoal barbecue for those evenings when al fresco dining takes your fancy. You will also find the hot tub on the decking area, the ideal way to end the day, looking out across the gorgeous Devonshire countryside or counting the stars as the night sky comes alight. This cottage really does offer the perfect escape with glorious views across the countryside making this the best ever-changing picture.
The owners are on site but will simply say a friendly hello and leave you to enjoy your holiday and all that this glorious location has to offer!
The Shippon is situated on a private plot, across the yard from The Granary (4826), in the peaceful village of Broadwoodkelly near Winkleigh in north Devon. Keep an eye out as you drive along the country roads for glimpses of Dartmoor National Park. You can see the peaks with a smattering of snow during the winter months and an array of colours during the warmer months.
Visit the National Trust's Castle Drogo at Drewsteignton for some culture and then set off across the moors for an adventure away from everyone else. Although set in mid Devon, from this cottage it is a straightforward drive up to the north Devon coast where you will find miles of wide sandy surfing beaches. The Tarka Line is a great alternative to a day spent driving - catch this local line at Eggesford Junction and head up to the coast or to the Cathedral City of Exeter.
Being surrounded by countryside means that there are plenty of footpaths waiting to be explored, so don't forget to pack the walking boots and the all-important picnic. Alternatively, you may wish to take a day trip up to the north coast of Devon for some vitamin-sea and coastal views.
