Nestled in secluded peaceful countryside, this cute rural escape on the outskirts of Praze-an-Beeble is the perfect romantic getaway. Tucked away down a little lane, surrounded by acres of woodland and fields this is a walker's paradise with the added bonus of having the north and south coasts in easy reach.
With woodland walks close at hand, this cosy bolthole offers the perfect retreat. All on one level with double height ceilings and exposed oak beams, natural light floods in through the windows and double width patio doors, and the two fabulous wood-burners ensure you are cosy whatever the time of year. The interiors are both comfortable and chic, inspired by the owners' house in France. Wherever you look there are fabulous touches such as the eclectic collection of fabulous crockery on the dresser and the lovely comfy cushions on the sofa. The bedroom has a beautiful brass bedstead and luxury linens to ensure a great night's sleep and the convenient shower-room is exactly what's required after a day out exploring.
The outside space here is delightful and the perfect place to relax and re-charge. The Summer House is fully kitted out with all the little luxuries you could wish for - goodies on arrival, the fire laid, all gifted by the friendly owners who live opposite and are on hand if you have any questions during your stay, but otherwise leave you in absolute privacy if you just want to take your foot off the pedal and unwind. The Summer House really is a secluded gem.
With such peaceful surroundings you may never wish to leave, but if you do decide to explore the area you will find lots to keep you occupied. Gwithian is a mecca for surfers with miles of sandy beach meeting Atlantic rollers. The Sunset Surf cafe with ocean views will re-charge your batteries after a day out, open all year it is the perfect place for a cream tea (jam first of course, you are in Cornwall after all!).
Closer to home Trevaskis Farm sits in 28 acres of beautiful countryside and you can choose to pick your own fruit and veg (depending on the season of course) or visit the farm animals. Before you go head over to the Farmhouse Kitchen Restaurant - a food-lover's dream!
The bustling port of Falmouth is a half-hour drive away and worth a visit to mooch around the many galleries, eateries and eclectic shops. The Maritime Museum tells the story of the seafaring past of the area and is well worth a look.
A great way to explore the local area is by bike and there's miles of cycle trails through the surrounding countryside and past historic tin mines. Both mountain bikes and e-bikes can be hired locally at Bissoe and Elm Farm Bike Hire near Redruth. However you plan to spend your Cornish getaway, you will enjoy returning to your cosy retreat, The Summer House.
