Follow the leafy green lanes that lead to Little Downderry Barn, a rural location with spectacular far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside just outside the village of Coombe. Situated on a smallholding this warm and welcoming barn is a delightful retreat for two, all on one level inside there is a spacious open plan living and kitchen area with vaulted ceiling and beams and a cosy bedroom with comfy king-size bed.

Just across the yard steps lead down to your own area of garden with a slate terrace and barbecue. South-facing it's the perfect spot to sit back with a morning coffee, breathe in the fresh Cornish air and enjoy the spectacular countryside setting. In the evening fire up the chiminea, snuggle up with a blanket and enjoy a spot of star gazing. Opposite and alongside the barn there is a lawn, and there is a lovely shady spot under the tree if you want to escape the mid-day sun. A large open-sided barn has plenty of storage space for bikes or surfboards as well as your car.

Little Downderry Barn offers the reassurance of friendly owners who live in the farmhouse below the barn should you have any questions during your stay, but assurance of privacy if you just want to relax. As well as there being livestock (horses, sheep, chickens and guinea fowl) in the surrounding fields, the owner also trains dogs on the farm and the family's friendly dog and cat may come to say hello when you arrive! You may also hear the occasional whinny from the owners' horses in the stables opposite.

Ideally located for exploring both coasts of Cornwall you can be on the south coast within 20 minutes, with its pretty fishing villages and glorious sandy beaches. Enjoy some water activity and catch the ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth, or for the more adventurous why not hire a paddleboard and explore some of the hidden creeks of the Fal estuary. The north coast, with its dramatic cliff paths and magnificent surfing beaches, are a short drive away. Visit Crantock, Mawgan Porth, Lusty Glaze and Watergate Bay stopping off for a leisurely lunch in one of the beachside cafes. Head to Mevagissey with its quaint windy streets and pretty harbour, take a fishing trip from here and catch some mackerel to bring home for the barbecue. Hire a bike and enjoy the scenic cycle trail along the Camel estuary to Padstow. For gardeners there are the nearby gardens of Heligan, Caerhays, Trewithen and the Eden Project to visit, while closer to home the popular Polgooth Inn offers a warm welcome and good food if you fancy stopping off on your way home for supper. You will be spoilt for choice of places to visit and things to do.
