Just opposite The Shack is a boatyard and the owner has kindly allowed guests to access the sea wall via the car park and through the gate (please note there is no direct access to the promenade and please do not climb on or over the wall).

The perfect holiday hideaway The Shack, overlooks the waters of the Solent so you can start the day sitting on the front deck with your morning coffee admiring the wonderful view. Breathe in the sea air and take time out from the hustle and bustle, here you will instantly relax into your holiday. Situated on Gurnard marsh, a few short miles west of Cowes, everything you could wish for in a perfect break is waiting for you.

The rear decking has outdoor dining furniture for four, ideal for al fresco dining, and loungers for lazy days in the sun - fortunately the Isle of Wight is the sunniest place in the UK! The enclosed garden is mainly laid to lawn and reached down steps, ideal for guests with dogs and the perfect place to keep an eye on little ones.

The main living space and kitchen is open plan with double doors to the front and back decked areas. Velux windows flood the space with lovely natural light, creating a very welcoming environment to relax, dine and cook in. The Shack is the ideal holiday home at any time of year with comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove to keep you toasty during cooler months. The Shack is conveniently all on one floor, with two double bedrooms and a shower-room.

Due to space restrictions in the bedrooms The Shack is not suitable for a cot. Private parking is clearly signposted.

Opposite The Shack is a boatyard and the owner kindly allows guests to access the sea wall via the car park and through a gate. You can wander over in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the sunsets which are known to be the best on the Island from here. A level walk along the promenade takes you to Gurnard beach and Cowes town centre beyond this, approximately 30 minutes' walk or perfect for a bike ride. Stop at the Cabin on the Green on your walk into Cowes for an ice cream before heading for a mooch around the boutique shops.

You are spoilt for choice for places to dine out in on the Island, with many places serving locally-caught fish and homegrown produce there is something for everyone's palette. The two closest pubs to The Shack are The Woodvale and The Portland Inn, both of which have outdoor seating areas with sea views. Cowes has a huge choice of cafes and restaurants, and is just a short drive away. Gurnard beach itself is shingle and bordered by charming beach huts, the green behind the huts has an enclosed play area which the younger ones will love. The Isle of Wight has some amazing coastline, woodland and nature reserves to explore either by foot, car or bicycle, you will be sure to find your favourite place and be looking forward to returning to this idyllic spot.
