Nestled at the end of a quiet unmade track, East View Cottage has lovely views across the neighbouring fields and has a large private garden. There is gated access at the front with ample space for two cars to park.

The cottage has an open plan sitting/dining-room with a wood-burning stove to cosy up in front of on cooler evenings. With original flagstones and also wooden floors on the first floor, East View is a traditional cottage located in the south of the Island.

Military Road, a short drive from East View Cottage, follows the coastline and has some of the most breathtaking views. The iconic Needles can be seen from here and are well worth a visit. The coastal and country walks in this area are spectacular.

The kitchen overlooks the rear garden, a wonderful place to have a spot of lunch in the sunshine. Mainly laid to lawn, there is plenty of space for younger ones to play safely. Situated a good distance from the road the cottage is peaceful and private, an ideal place to take time out from busy lives and explore all the delights the Island has to offer. The two bedrooms are on the first floor, a double and a twin, please note some doorways have restricted head height.

The village of Chale sits at the bottom of St Catherine's Down on the southern coast of the Island, with the village of Niton a few miles away. The resident pub in Chale is The Wight Mouse and is well worth a visit, it has a large outdoor area with fantastic sea views and great pub food.

There are many beaches nearby to choose from; Compton Bay is two miles of sandy beach and rolling waves, a magnet for surfers all year round. You can also go fossil hunting either by yourself or by booking an organised tour where you will get to see footprints left in the rocks.

The nearby Freshwater Bay is shingle but with sand below the water line it's an ideal place to swim. Smugglers once used the surrounding caves at the bottom of the chalk cliffs, you can now hire kayaks for a guided tour which is a great experience for the whole family.

Yarmouth town is a 20 minute drive away and has a fantastic choice of restaurants and cafes to sample. Gossips cafe sits at the dry end of Yarmouth Pier, known to be the longest wooden pier in England; take a stroll along and watch the boating activity on this stretch of the Solent. The Terrace Restaurant overlooks Yarmouth harbour and serves wonderful cuisine including fresh locally caught seafood. Why not try On the Rocks, the Island's black rock grill, and cook up your own supper! The Isle of Wight has so much to offer all year round you will definitely want to return.
