Situated between Yarmouth and Freshwater on the west coast of the Isle of Wight, the Tap Room is a short drive away from some of the Island's most dramatic scenery. There are beaches aplenty to choose from, from small pebbled bays, perfect for dipping your toes to the large sandy beaches such as Compton on Military Road, ideal for family fun with a bucket and spade.

The town of Yarmouth, a short drive away, has a great choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes to choice from, so much so on a seven night break you could sample a different one every night! Colwell Bay is also close by and is home to the acclaimed Hut Restaurant, with a riviera atmosphere and delicious fresh seafood, it is worth booking early to avoid disappointment! This unique property has a reverse level layout with the three bedrooms, an en suite shower-room and a bathroom on the ground floor and the living space up above. The main bedroom is to the front of the property and has a stylish en suite shower-room. The further two bedrooms are a twin and a double with a family bathroom dividing the two. The top floor living-room with kitchen and dining area is open plan with doors leading out to the shared balcony facing into the inner courtyard. The original bricked curved ceiling has been preserved, with added mood lighting making this room a wonderful place to dine and relax.

The kitchen is equipped with top quality Neff appliances including an integral coffee machine, a freestanding Nespresso machine and everything you could possibly want for the perfect holiday cooking experience. There is a dining-table and chairs for four on the balcony as well as an outdoor sofa. Enjoy al fresco dining or just your morning coffee whilst you soak up the view from this striking building.

Golden Hill Fort was converted into private dwellings between 2008 and 2011, originally a defence barracks housing 136 men, it even had its own hospital. It is built in hexagonal form and has a Grade I Listing. The conversion has been beautifully executed creating eighteen unique homes in an exceptional location.

The land surrounding the fort is a country park and managed by Gift to Nature, mainly grassland with areas of woodland and stunning views of Freshwater Bay and Afton Down. The approach in itself is impressive as you drive through the tunnel in the external wall through what was once the moat and into the central courtyard via a secondary tunnel. The water feature takes centre stage and completes the magnificent setting.
