Golden Hill Fort was converted into private dwellings between 2008 and 2011, originally a defence barracks housing 136 men, it even had its own hospital. It is built in hexagonal form and has a Grade I Listing. The conversion has been beautifully executed creating eighteen unique homes in an exceptional location.

The land surrounding the fort is a country park and managed by Gift to Nature, mainly grassland with areas of woodland and stunning views of Freshwater Bay and Afton Down. The approach in itself is impressive as you drive through the tunnel in the external wall through what was once the moat and into the central courtyard via a secondary tunnel.
