Set in the grounds of the impressive Pyle Manor, this newly refurbished cottage offers a wonderful base on the Isle of Wight with the shared use of an outdoor unheated swimming pool (available between May - September). Located between the villages of Chale and Atherfield, close to the beaches and rural south-west coast of the Island, Sunset Cottage is an ideal destination for complete peace and tranquility.
Pyle Manor and the cottage itself are surrounded by lovely mature gardens, woodland and the walled outdoor swimming pool. Sunset Cottage is situated directly on the round the Island Cycle Route and there is plenty of secure bike storage. There is also an undercover table tennis table area with equipment provided. There are patio doors from the living area and gated access leads you to the pool, making it safe for the younger members of the family. There are loungers available by the pool to take full advantage of the Isle of Wight sunshine whilst the kids have hours of fun.
The cottage has three bedrooms, a twin bedroom on the ground floor with en suite shower-room and two further double bedrooms on the first floor with an additional family bathroom. The master bedroom has the most spectacular and uninterrupted view across to The Needles where you can watch the most amazing sunsets, which led the owners to the cottage name. All the bedrooms have been finished to a very high standard offering guests a taste of luxury in a beautiful setting.
The living-room with kitchen and dining areas has an open plan configuration, with plenty of soft seating for everyone to relax in after a day out exploring the Island. There is also outdoor seating to the front of the cottage and a large lawned area, which guests may use, with plenty of space for the kids to run around or enjoy a picnic. There is parking for two cars adjacent to the cottage.
The infamous Military Road is a short drive from Sunset Cottage, starting in Chale and ending in Freshwater Bay, boasting views of some of the most spectacular coastline on the Island, with many viewpoints to stop at along the way and the odd ice cream van! There are plenty of places to enjoy a bite to eat nearby; Yarmouth Town, about a twenty minute drive away, is located at the mouth of the small Western Yar river. It has a good selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from, along with some boutique shops and several cafes. This western side of the Island is dotted with charming villages, all of course with their own country pubs.
With a plethora of country and coastal walks from your doorstep, Sunset Cottage makes the ideal base all year around. You can relax by the pool and dip your toes in the water at the end of a long and wonderful day in this idyllic setting.
