Situated in a quiet rural little spot just two miles from Porthtowan you'll find Hannah's Haven. Named after the owners' daughter, this quirky shepherd's hut offers comfortable accommodation and is the perfect bolthole for two.

Sat in its own large meadow with rural views stretching over the Cornish countryside, this idyllic retreat has just horses and donkeys for neighbours. Several steps lead up to the delightful open plan living-area, complete with super-comfy double bed, small kitchen-area (equipped with a single induction hob and microwave, as well as an all-important kettle and toaster), dining-area and en suite shower-room.

Outside, a handy table and chairs are provided - perfect for dining al fresco in the sunshine after cooking up a storm on the barbecue. Just across the meadow from Hannah's Haven, there is a large wooden cabin - not only can you store bikes and wetsuits in here, but there is also a washer/drier, fridge (with little freezer compartment), mini oven (with two-ring hob) and large sink - all for your sole use.

If you can bear to tear yourselves away, Porthtowan is very close by, with its fabulous sandy beach, little cafes - including the renowned Blue Bar - and bucket and spade shops. Why not learn to surf - lessons can be arranged and equipment can be hired at the beach cafe, which also serves fabulous home-cooked food. Further along the coast you'll discover St Agnes, which is rapidly becoming 'the' place to visit and has everything you could possibly need, with shops, galleries, funky cafes, vibrant bistros and trendy bars.

If you're a keen cyclist, why not join the Mineral Tramway cycle path, which is a few minutes down the road. Many of the old tramways have been converted into cycle paths and the one nearest to Hannah's Haven takes you to either Portreath or further afield to Devoran (bikes can be hired from nearby Elm Farm Cycle Hire). For supplies, including yummy barbecue boxes, the award winning Etherington Farm Shop is within easy reach or, if you don't feel like cooking, the friendly local pub, The Treleigh Arms, is around two miles away.

All in all, Hannah's Haven offers simple living and is perfectly located for exploring north Cornwall's coves, villages and sandy beaches.
