Mevagissey is a bustling little harbour, home to a small fishing fleet which shelters within its protective walls. Picture book pretty, colourful terraced cottages cling to the steep, narrow lanes and ancient pubs, quirky shops and little cafes and restaurants are jumbled around the water. Up above the hustle and bustle of the village sits Little Trevarne, a self-contained semi-detached cottage with views over a peaceful garden to the countryside adjoining Heligan Gardens. Approached along a narrow lane, Little Trevarne provides comfortable and cosy accommodation for couples. The cottage is reached down a flight of exterior steps from the parking area and as it's attached to the Owners’ holiday home, you may bump into them during your stay if they are visiting. The open plan living-room has a fully fitted kitchen-area with a breakfast-bar, along with a sofa and armchair facing an open fire. Outside, a sheltered raised deck catches the sun, a lovely spot for coffee or evening drinks. Steps lead down to the garden (which guests are welcome to use) and there is private parking right outside.
Little Trevarne offers the best of both worlds: easy access into the pretty harbourside village (steep on the way back!) coupled with a peaceful location and guaranteed parking. Stairs lead up from the open plan living-room to the first floor bedroom, which shares the views and has a dressing area and en suite shower-room with walk-in shower. With comfort in mind, there is a Vi Spring Woolacombe Superb king-size bed so you are guaranteed a great night's sleep! The Lost Gardens of Heligan are in view and the Eden Project is a short drive away, so this is the perfect location for keen gardeners. Historic Charlestown harbour, with its tall ships and Poldark fame, is a short drive away and the sailing town of Fowey a little further. There is easy access to the county town of Truro and the gloriously rugged cliffs and surfing beaches of the north Cornwall coast are less than an hour's drive.
