If you were looking for cottages like Venice Lodge, how about trying these:

Venice Lodge is a Georgian cottage located in a quiet residential area of the popular seaside town of Ryde. This is a unique house that you will not soon forget. If you long for the seaside but still need plenty of shopping, pubs and cafes around the corner, then Venice Lodge is surely your holiday home-from-home.

The white picket fence to the front of the property is just a prelude to the compelling décor you will find inside. The interior combines period and vintage furnishings, original features and striking artwork.

The sitting room, while reminiscent of a time gone by, offers modern comfort. The kitchen is perfect for preparing family meals or simply a cup of tea. And while the dining room is spacious and inviting, when the sun is shining you will want to enjoy meals al fresco in the private garden. A roll-top bath, Belfast sink and Smeg refrigerator are the sort of extras that give this property real retro appeal.

Venice Lodge offers two bedrooms, a double and a twin room, and of course both are comfortable and beautifully appointed. There is a luxury bath in the family bathroom, as well as a shower cubicle in the twin room.

Ryde, considered the Gateway to the Island, is perfectly perched between stunning little Seaview and the sailors' haven of Cowes. The long stretch of beach in Ryde is ideal for morning walks, afternoon swims or watching the sun go down after a day of exploring. The "town by the beach" boasts a bustling high street and esplanade, a vineyard just south of town and the only passenger hovercraft service in Britain - so convenience and variety abound. From Venice Lodge, The Solent Inn is your nearest pub, a popular local haunt that is well-known for its live music and beer garden. And if you are in need of a particularly good cup of coffee, pop into The Chocolate Apothecary along The Esplanade - its beautifully tiled interior and homemade chocolates are works of art. In the centre of town you will find a Co-op, Boots and WH Smiths, along with a wide range of independent shops and cafes.
