Moonseeker is the stone fronted part of this beautifully restored barn.
There is a very completely private rear garden with a decking-area as well as a lovely lawn, looking out over the fields.
A 15 minute drive takes you to Belstone right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. You can leave your car by the village green and set off for an amazing walk.
There is a really well-equipped kitchen and a large farmhouse table in this gorgeous open plan living space.
The kitchen has a large range cooker at its heart.
Holidays are always the best opportunity to buy some local produce and cook up a treat - here you can celebrate a truly peaceful and high quality property.
The living area has a wood-burning stove for those autumn and winter evenings, or simply for extra snug atmosphere after a day out walking.
Another view of the living-room with the central staircase separating it from the kitchen/dining area.
Put up your feet and relax. Moonseeker is all about enabling that opportunity.
This is the entrance hallway. The cloakroom is through the door to the right and a couple of steps take you up to the kitchen/dining area.
You can get a feel from this photo of the flow from the kitchen/dining area through to the living area.
The ground floor is very spacious and the lovely floor tiles make it very easy to be here with those four-legged friends.
The bespoke wooden staircase is a wonderful design feature in its own right.
This is one of the two double bedrooms. The beds are super comfortable and there is plenty of storage space too.
Another view of this bedroom which has kept the lovely character of the original barn, with exposed beams - mind your head on the one closest to the bed!
Throughout the cottage there are friendly and colourful touches to make you feel very much at home.
This is the en suite shower-room, again offering plenty of space.
The fittings are very stylish and contemporary.
This is the second double bedroom. This room is just as luxurious and has an en suite too.
Another view of this bedroom, the Velux windows in both bedrooms have blackout blinds so you will be sure to sleep very well.
Have a well deserved lie-in before setting off to explore.
This is the en suite for the second double bedroom. A low beam adds character but do mind your head.
The downstairs cloakroom has been given an identity of its own! Even down to the copper pipe. This is a rural cottage with quite some WOW factor!
To the front of the cottage there is a beautiful sunken garden with a deep pond. This is a communal area which guests at Dreamcatcher can also enjoy but you do have your privacy in your own back yard.
This is the outlook from your garden. The resident sheep will happily watch you from the meadow.

Moonseeker

3335

1.5 miles NE of Okehampton / Sleeps 4 + cot* (no children from 1 to 14)

7 Nights from £382 - £879

This brand new barn conversion nestles alongside the original farmhouse in a peaceful and attractive setting, a few miles from the open moorland of Dartmoor National Park. The market town of Okehampton is just down the road yet this rural setting feels off the beaten track in the best possible sense – easy to get to, but offering peace and quiet as soon as you arrive. The kitchen and dining area of the open plan ground floor are separated from the living area, with a wood-burner, by a central staircase. Two luxurious bedrooms, both en suite, are upstairs. You will have all the privacy you need but the Owners, who live in the farmhouse, are on hand to offer exploring ideas.

The cottage has kept so much of its original character – there is even a glimpse of the ancient cob walls in one of the bedrooms, some lovely exposed low beams and of course the ancient farmstead setting. Hand-in-hand with this come all the facilities for a really comfortable holiday – under-floor heating, a wonderful contemporary kitchen and fabulous en suite showers. At the front of the cottage there is a beautiful sunken garden with a deep pond but at the back you have your own private enclosed garden looking out over the fields beyond. Four-legged friends are so welcome here and the garden is a 99.9% dog escape proof one! As for local walks – try Belstone, a traditional Dartmoor village just a 15 minute drive away and right on the edge of Dartmoor. You can leave your car by the green and set off for a wonderful walk – and if the weather is trying, you have that wood-burning stove to return to (and the considerate bonus of a clever outside dog washing trough and tap to clean off those muddy paws!). There is another lovely cottage here too, Dreamcatcher (2465).
