Jacaranda is a ground floor apartment with a bungalow apartment above Jacaranda Bungalow (3137), situated in an elevated position in a quiet cul-de-sac in the pretty fishing village of Portscatho. There is a sitting/dining-room and a fully fitted Shaker-style kitchen. With two bedrooms, a small garden and parking, this is a comfortable family retreat in a lovely little Cornish village. In the village centre are several shops, including a butchers and a grocery/off licence as well as some interesting galleries and gift shops. The Plume of Feathers pub is within walking distance of the apartment and the National Trust managed coastal path encircles the Roseland peninsula and offers some spectacular clifftop walks with great sea views.
Portscatho is on the south west corner of Gerrans Bay and the east-facing cove offers shelter from the prevailing south-westerly winds. This meant it was ideal as a base for the pilchard fleets of the 18th and 19th centuries and is still, although on a far smaller scale, an active fishing port today. The same shelter makes for safe swimming and its proximity to several fine sandy beaches makes the lovely village a real family favourite.
