A stunning west Dorset location, amazing rural views and a truly luxurious property, Phoebes House and neighbouring property Lottie's Loft (2565) both hidden gems just a short drive inland from the famous Jurassic Coast. Phoebes House is a detached single-storey cottage and enjoys a private setting on the edge of the farmstead at West Farm. It has its own parking-area and a secluded enclosed garden. Every detail has been thought of, from complimentary logs for the wood-burner throughout your stay, to chocolates on your bed!
West Farm is at the end of a mile-long unmade farm track, setting the scene for your 'away from it all' holiday and yet an easy drive from the lovely local towns of Beaminster and Bridport. Although it is no longer an agricultural based farm it is still a working farm where the owners run a thriving kiln dried log business. The ethos is to run this as eco-friendly as possible using locally-sourced timber and drying in professional kilns with all the waste wood being recycled. It is worth noting you may smell wood smoke on occasions in the air. Great care is taken to ensure that the operation of the business has minimum impact on guests, and on the plus side you are never short of free supply of kiln logs for your wood-burning stove!
You will feel very private as the cottages have been designed to the highest standard with guests' comfort in mind. You will be able to enjoy a sheltered decked sitting-out area on the ground floor as well as on the balcony at the front of Lottie's Loft – for the most amazing panoramic countryside views right across the valley. Phoebes House is situated across the other side of the farm completely separate with its own outside areas. Guests can book both properties at the same time – ask our Booking Office for details.
Phoebes House has a large open plan living, kitchen and dining-area, two stylish bedrooms with garden views and a really lovely bathroom. The enclosed garden catches the sun from the morning through to the afternoon and you can sit out at the front to watch the sunset over a glass of wine in the evening. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard, a real home-from-home with a touch of luxury to make this a holiday to remember.
West Dorset offers one of the most spectacular stretches of the Jurassic Coast with the iconic landmark of Golden Cap, the traditional charm of Lyme Regis and, for food lovers, the renowned Hive Beach Cafe at Burton Bradstock – just a few of the coastal outings that come highly recommended.
The historic landscape of this area, close to the borders of south Somerset and east Devon, offers a network of walks, ancient hill forts and wonderful villages to explore.
