What a tranquil spot this is amidst rolling fields and wooded valleys. Lower Hewton Farm dates back to the 16th Century and the cottage, which adjoins the main house, is welcoming and comfortable with an open plan living-room on the ground floor and a very pretty bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The bedroom has exposed beams which clearly show the age of this lovely property. Outside guests have their own private garden looking down over the valley and exclusive use of a little summer-house to enjoy a quiet drink on a summer’s evening.
Although deep in gorgeous countryside the north Devon coast is easily accessible, as is Dartmoor, and for the cyclists amongst you the Granite Way on the moor is within a fifteen minute drive. The nearby towns of Okehampton and Tavistock are worth a visit, the latter has an excellent daily pannier market, and there are also many wonderful National Trust properties to visit in the area, however you may well wish to remain in the peace and quiet of Lower Hewton.
