Bolivar Barn

2845

5 miles SE of Portreath / Sleeps 2 + cot

7 Nights from £313 - £681

With spectacular countryside views from its elevated position and walks right on the doorstep, Bolivar Barn is a real delight for exploring this little known part of Cornwall. Retaining much of the original character, this former pig barn has been converted into a cosy, comfortable and stylish retreat for two, which is totally separate and private from the Owners' family home below. Inside, the surprisingly spacious open plan living-room has a cosy wood-burner for those cooler evenings, a comfortable sofa and a dining-table with fabulous views. Whether looking to visit the dramatic Cornish coastline, traditional fishing villages or latest exhibition in Tate St Ives, the location of this lovely detached cottage may just be perfect.

From your hillside location, the private garden terrace is a real sun-trap and a great spot to enjoy the wonderful views in front of you. After a day out exploring why not fire up the barbecue or relax with a drink while watching the sun go down. Bolivar Barn is ideal for walkers too as just behind the barn a path will lead you onto the old mining trails; if you walk the trails around Lanner you will pass a disused granite quarry now employed as an open-air theatre and if you go to the top of Carn Marth you can take in the amazing coast to coast view. In the village of Lanner there are two pubs for food and drink or if you fancy a picnic, there is the village store, the bakery (for great pasties), or the fish and chip shop.
