Knighton Farm is in a magical setting, tucked into a sheltered valley yet surrounded by the dramatic scenery and wide open space of Exmoor. This traditional farmstead has fishing rights on the River Barle and is home to sheep, alpacas, goats and chickens. A well-kept mile-long track sets the scene. Creenagh’s Cottage, a beautifully refurbished annexe to the Owners’ farmhouse, is a great bolthole. The open plan living-room has a wood-burner and overlooks the farmyard. Upstairs, the double bedroom encompasses the whole first floor and has characterful sloping ceilings. Outside is a sheltered patio and large enclosed garden – ideal for dog owners. Withypool's friendly pub and village shop are within walking distance. Foxlair Cottage (2553) is across the farmyard.
The Exmoor National Park is literally within walking distance – you don't need to take your car to a starting point, you can set off from here. Within moments you can be in the midst of the wonderful wide open space above the farm taking in the panoramic views. Whatever the season, even in the winter, the moorland is a magical place. Come equipped for a wonderful outdoors adventure. A rucksack is a must so that you can pack your provisions and set off for the day – with a map perhaps! – and really switch off from everyday life. For outings further afield try the lovely market town of Dulverton, the medieval town of Dunster with its castle, and Porlock where Exmoor meets the sea and where you will have to experience the famous Porlock Hill.
