The sitting-area has a vaulted ceiling, and up under the eaves the mezzanine snug includes a cosy day bed and yoga mats. Devon and Cornwall’s dramatic coastline is easily accessible by car, the Eden Project is within an hour’s drive, and nearby Okehampton has a wealth of ancient pubs and contemporary cafes to investigate. Best of all? Returning home to Dreamcatcher – an absolute joy!
Guests can buy local meat and vegetables at the nearby farm shops, as well as good independent butchers in Okehampton itself. The town also boasts two greengrocers with fresh local produce, and three supermarkets including Waitrose and Lidl. There are plenty of coffee shops to enjoy. The Owners provide details of some of the nearby pubs and restaurants that have proved popular with guests, as well as indicating if they are pet-friendly. There is a comprehensive list of dog-friendly beaches for guests to refer to. With over 40 nature reserves easily accessible from Dreamcatcher, as well as National Trust houses and gardens, there is plenty to fill your time. If you are a golf lover there is a fantastic golf course less than 10 minutes' drive away with no less than seven 18 hole course options! National Cycle Route 27 (the Devon Coast to Coast) runs past the top of the track to Dreamcatcher and there are great off road cycling opportunities if you want to do sections of this, such as the Granite Way which starts in Okehampton. Bikes and kayaks can be stored undercover. This is an excellent location for walking, with Dartmoor, Bodmin, and the South West Coast Past easily within reach. If you are a watersport lover then Roadford Lake is 20 minutes away with opportunities for kayaking, windsurfing or launching your own kayak/boat. For your pets – dog bowls and blankets are provided for up to four dogs and litter trays and cat bowls and throws for up to four cats, to help save on packing.
