Set in the vale of Taunton, halfway between Exmoor National Park and the beautiful Quantock Hills and an easy drive from the coast, this is a perfect base from which to discover the variety that Somerset has to offer.

Set on the owners' 800 acre arable farm, only a few minutes' walk from the pretty village of Halse, Bumble Bee Barn is bright and cheerful. It has a contemporary open plan ground floor, spacious bedrooms upstairs, unspoilt countryside views and a completely private garden with decking and a fabulous super-size hot tub!

There are other historic villages nearby, such as Milverton and Bishop's Lydeard - for local shops and pubs. Bishop's Lydeard has a lovely farm shop near the steam railway station.

For a memorable day out, visit the coast by steam train on the West Somerset Railway from the little station at Bishop's Lydeard, just two miles away.

There are plenty of local walks but if you are feeling energetic, join the Coleridge Way walking route from West Quantoxhead high up in the Quantock Hills - the views from the top of these hills are stunning - right across the Bristol Channel to South Wales - you are sure to see a herd of deer before long.

In the other direction, you can easily reach Exmoor National Park - start the day with a late breakfast in the lovely little town of Dulverton and then head for the open moors.
