Knights Barton

5.8 miles W of Taunton / Sleeps 4 + cot

7 Nights from £388 - £891

Knights Barton is in a peaceful setting on the edge of the village of Halse, one of the prettiest in Somerset, between the Quantock Hills and Exmoor. This top quality, deceptively spacious home-from-home makes the most of the rural views, facing away from the main farmyard and the Owners’ farmhouse, with a beautifully planted enclosed courtyard garden at the front and a ‘secret’ sunken terrace at the back. The cottage has a large friendly farmhouse-style kitchen, a welcoming sitting-room with a wood-burner, a sun-room and separate dining-room which both overlook the garden. There is even a piano! You can stroll to the renowned pub in the heart of the village in just a couple of minutes.

This welcoming cottage is a great base for exploring the north Somerset coast, the Exmoor National Park, the Quantock Hills and the Somerset Levels. Both the front courtyard garden and the tucked away patio at the back of the cottage are totally enclosed so very secure if you bring a dog or small children and you will be able to relax. There are lovely walks from the village so you can easily leave the car behind and go off exploring from the cottage. The village pub is a 5 to 10 minute walk, in the centre of the village. Whatever the season or the weather, Knights Barton is a very comfortable and cosy base. The Aga in the kitchen remains on until the summer months and, along with the wood-burner, keeps the cottage snug. However there is downstairs under-floor heating available on request should you suffer a cold snap.
