This wonderfully homely farmhouse is found in a tranquil rural setting at the end of a private lane. There are countryside views and an enclosed south-facing garden, and guests can also use a large, beautifully landscaped part of the owners' grounds. Children and dogs are welcome and well provided for, making Bay Tree Farmhouse perfect for family holidays.
There are delightful walks straight from the cottage, ideal for dog walkers, including a private lane to the Iron Age hill fort Resugga Castle, where 13 acres await exploration (with dogs on leads when animals are in the fields).
The kitchen/dining-room with its warming Rayburn is the hub of the house, while the cosy sitting-room is perfect for relaxing by the fire.
Bay Tree Farmhouse is truly welcoming and with only the friendly owners as unobtrusive neighbours you are assured of a peaceful and relaxing holiday; with no light pollution, you can even indulge in a spot of star-gazing on clear nights.
Coombe is a pretty little hamlet, very peaceful and a lovely rural community. There is a children's playground and a tennis court, open for everyone to use (a donation in the box is gratefully received). There is a farm shop nearby at Probus and food lovers will be delighted with Mary's Pasties in Grampound Road (phone up and order your pasties for collection later in the day) and the Da Bara Bakery in Ruan High Lanes, who produce delicious bread, croissants and pastries, supplying the renowned Hotel Tresanton and Jamie Oliver's famous Fifteen restaurant.
It is easy to explore from here, with the fishing village of Mevagissey, the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens all close by, while the dramatic coastline and surfing beaches of the north coast are only 25/30 minutes away. The more sheltered and equally sandy bays of the south coast are 20 minutes away.
