Stonewater cottage is of high quality with ample opportunities for sitting outside as well as inside, which was perfect for the warm spell we were there. Owner Pat was very friendly giving us great advice for what to do and equally what to avoid. Cottage is located in an attractive area of Brixham within walking distance of downtown and the harbour but far away enough away to be able to escape to peace and quiet. We recommend Stonewater Cottage to any couple looking to have a good base from which to investigate South Devon.

The cottage is set in lovely gardens and fully self contained. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the birds and squirrels with a nice glass of wine.

This property is well appointed and the layout takes full advantage of views over the stunning garden. Located within a twenty minute walk of Brixham and on a good bus route makes it the perfect base to explore this lovely area of Devon.

A well designed barn conversion and garden. Very clean and well equipped, we enjoyed the Nespresso coffee and eating alfressco on the decking while relaxing overlooking the owners beautiful garden.
The stairs are a bit steep, but there is a handrail. Upper garden to lounge in if weather permitting. Its a twenty minute walk down hill to Brixhams lovely harbour from the property. Very well positioned to visit two great NTproperties nearby and Dartmouth.

Stone water barn is a comfortable and cosy hideaway with a lovely garden very peaceful and close to a lot of south Devon’s hidden gems

Important! There are two separate parking locations, one for large cars and one for small cars. Ring ahead if unsure which one is suitable. Lovely barn conversion set in a beautiful garden. House has a big deck with seating, which was a nice place to sit and enjoy a sundowner. Very peaceful and quiet, set in a valley back from the coast. The owner Pat couldn't have been more helpful and is very generous with her lemon drizzle cake! The harbour is an easy 20min walk from the property. There is a very good small supermarket 2-3 mins walk away that seems to be perpetually open (7 - 10 every day). Brixham has a number of good pubs and restaurants. Blue Anchor we found to be a friendly pub. Restaurants we liked included The Prince William, Simply Fish and Albero. Eating in, we found Davids fish and chips were excellent. We had a great day out taking the 18 bus from the top of the road to Kingswear and then the ferry to Dartmouth. Dartmouth is a very nice harbour and town.

Thanks for your review of Stonewater Barn. We're so pleased you found the location of this fabulous barn conversion so peaceful and the gardens beautiful. It sounds absolutely perfect sitting on the large decking in the evening watching the sun set and how lovely of Pat to be so generous with her Lemon Drizzle cake. Thanks for mentioning the parking; there is designated parking available behind the barn but for extra large vehicles parking can be arranged but not immediately outside the property. Stonewater Barn is an absolutely brilliant property in an oasis of a garden. The hosts are so friendly and the property itself is very cozy and well equipped! The building itself is beautifully renovated.

It is situated right in the centre of Brixham, only a short walk into town. The driveway is very tight so big cars will not fit.

We will definitely be coming back!

We're thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at beautiful Stonewater Barn and appeciated the fabulous location. It may help to know that there is also another parking area which offers a much less restricted access, whilst still remaining close to the Barn. We're delighted that you are planning a return visit and very much look forward to welcoming you back. Julie, Customer Support

Our stay at Stonewater Barn couldn't have been more relaxing. It's such a charming property and the incredibly clever design means it has the perfect combination of space and cosiness. Evenings with the wood burner (and a good glass of wine) were an absolute delight and it's position in the town means it's equally easy to enjoy the pubs and restaurants by the harbour and to escape into the Devon countryside beyond.

Our hosts, Pat and Ian were incredible and were always there if we needed them and the extra little touches that they offer including kitchen condiments and a delicious slice of cake on arrival were the icing on the cake. We've stayed at a number of cottages over the years and this was absolutely top of the list in terms of how straightforward all of those little admin tasks on arriving and leaving were too.

We'd recommend Stonewater Barn to any couple looking for a romantic weekend away and since we only had a chance to explore a small part of the surrounding area, we'll probably be back at some point!
