Fabulous little hideaway! The roads to get there from the main A38 are winding and some very tight (we have a Golf and found it quite hairy on the last mile or so approach road - hated meeting anything coming the other way as passing places were few and far between. The hedgerows need a bit of cutting back in all honesty!) but the views are so worth it! The property itself is small but perfect for 2 people. We loved looking out the huge picture window at the coming and goings in the sea (ferries, yachts, submarines and various military boats in/out of Plymouth). The volunteers at the Coastguard Watch next door were so lovely and I really enjoyed popping in to discuss their role. We are sure the hot tub is a glorious addition when the weather is hot and the air is still but sadly for us the weather was rrrrrubbish (lashing rain and blowing a hooley most days!) - as the Lookout is very exposed, it is incredibly windy when the weather isn't great - it meant getting in the tub was manageable at a dash in the wind but getting out was horribly horribly cold!!! We braved it a couple of times but gave up as it was just toooooo cold to enjoy. Absolutely LOVED the bed - super comfortable - slept brilliantly. Actually loved not having a TV in the living space and listed to the radio instead ...but we did take our own mini projector and had a couple of film nights projecting onto the bifold blind ??. The Lookout had everything we needed in the kitchen - we were not expecting to have a freezer compartment on the fridge nor a hairdryer in one of the bedside drawers ...bonus! We loved our week at Rame Lookout and would highly recommend it to anyone ?? ...

Mr Light February 2026

We had an amazing stay at Rame Head Lookout and the location is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The property is so comfortable with everything you need for a cosy stay (even when the wind was howling outside). Parking is right outside the property and super convenient. The team at Mount Edgcumbe who manage the property were superb and really helpful to sort any issues that may arise. Our thanks to them!! We loved our stay, got engaged near St Michael’s Chapel on Rame Head and the weather was gorgeous!! It’s a place that will always be close to our hearts now and we will definitely be back to stay at Rame Head Lookout ?? Mark & Gemma...

Lovely property which is just right for two people. Very quiet and peaceful - we saw deer running past the cottage. Great sea views.

Mr Hollis October 2025

Rame Head Lookout lives up to its name with fantastic views. There's something very special about watching the sun go down leaving St Michael's chapel a silhouette on the headland. The house is warm and comfortable with everything you'd want on a stay away. There's plenty to do a drive away or simply go for bracing walks from your doorstep....
