Previous reviews of Once Upon a Tide have been so positive and having spent the last week of September’23 in this gorgeous holiday cottage, we can only, wholeheartedly, agree. What a fabulous location, too! We had Mum, with us, so it was important that we had easy access to almost everywhere - plus our 4 year old Lab. With the help of Mum’s wheelchair, it seemed that within minutes we were either out on the Breakwater taking in the lovely sea air, or, in what we called the “sun trap” pub, on their terrace enjoying some Light Bites, half way between the cottage and the sea. This was normally followed by cocktails adjacent to the replica Golden Hinde, with a slice of delicious Apple Cake. But what struck us most about this cottage was its cleanliness. A big shout out to Housekeeping for a job so well done. Most days we would see some seals, either in the sea or inside the harbour. And one evening whilst fishing off the Breakwater, 6 dolphins were helping themselves to fish from our line. What a beautiful sight! We did drag ourselves away from this pretty resort and once we had crossed the tiny Lower Ferry in Dartmouth, just a few miles away, we found Strete Gate Beach, with what seemed like miles of deserted sand & shingle beach; it was doggy paradise. Or maybe, just paradise. On arriving home, dear Mum, 92, reflected on her holiday at Once Upon a Tide. She said she had had the best holiday of her life - a Once Upon a Lifetime holiday, creating memories she would treasure. Thank you so much. Benz, Steve, Mum & Arthur.

The best equipped kitchen of anywhere I've ever stayed - kitchen a brilliant space with the conservatory off it and a good TV it's a perfect place to chill out we barely touched the lounge. Comfy beds (back bedroom much comfier bed and quieter away from the road at the front). Great shower and spa bath. Lovely garden with different seating areas to catch the sun all day. BBQ provided which we didn't get to use this time. Your own driveway to park in and so close to town is a brilliant bonus and Brixham is a great place to stay with lots to suit all tastes. Highly recommend the view, food and watching the sunset from the Berry Head Hotel. Lovely phone call from the owner to check in too. Highly recommended

A perfect pet and family friendly home-from-home, Once Upon a Tide is a clean and well equipped house with everything you need for your stay (the tumble dryer was a particular bonus during a slightly soggy week!). The location is great for exploring Brixham, with all of the attractions within a 10-15 minute walk and the off-road parking is a definite plus-point. Possibly the best holiday rental we have stayed in as a family.

5* plus the property was excellent, we did not want to come away, spotlessly clean and very well appointed, can highly recommend.

This was the best place I've ever stayed in and this is from someone who has stayed in a lot of places over the last few years and I am also very picky about it. You will not be disappointed here at all. Wonderful house. Wonderful location. What more could you want? Exceptional in my opinion. The host was lovely in the brief communication we had too so altogether just brilliant.
Ms Bramley October 2022
A lovely well laid out house with an enclosed dog-friendly garden and off-road parking. A quiet location, but near to the harbour and the town and handy for the coast path and Berry Head.
Mr Dinsdale August 2022
Once Upon a Tide was a perfect holiday cottage. Clean, spacious, and very well equipped. The real bonus was its location, just a 5 minute walk down the hill to the harbour and the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The house was spotless, beds extremely comfortable, an amazing bath/ shower, everything you could need in the kitchen, a lovely well kept garden with views of the sea, in fact I cannot fault a thing! Location was superb and we enjoyed the short walk to the harbour and all its restaurants. My favourite place to visit was St.Mary’s Bay - a beautiful uncrowded beach, the perfect place for children to play and explore. In all I highly recommend ‘Once Upon A Tide’!

Perfect location for exploring Brixham and the surrounding area. The house was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well -equipped with everything we could possibly need. The garden is a beautiful space to relax in at the end of a busy day and we certainly made good use of it! A wonderful property! We would definitely recommend.
Mr Burditt July 2022
We had a great stay in Once Upon a Tide. The house is well equipment, modern and in great condition. Being a short walk to Brixham town center, the Breakwater and Shoalstone Pool, and Berry Head nature reserve means that you can stay the whole week without using the car if you don't want too. As a family of 5 we had plenty of room spend our time. I'd highly recommend a stay here.
Mr Ashdown May 2022
Excellent holiday home, very clean and well equipped with everything you could need, a very comfortable home from home. There is a great conservatory which was well used and which led out to a beautifully laid out garden with two seating areas and certainly a sun trap. It was a short walk to the harbour where there are numerous places to eat and drink, plus scenic walks and boat rides. Also it is only a 15 minute walk to the nearest grocery store.
Mr Murray April 2022
Superb cottage with everything you require for a nice relaxing holiday. Clean and spacious with really comfortable furniture, excellent appliances and really nice layout, with a great, pet secure garden that had views out to sea from the decking area.
Easy walk down to the harbour and plenty of other parts of Brixham, we didn’t get in the car once during our stay.
Mr Stanton April 2022
A unique holiday home in the heart of Brixham. This property is a home from home and we absolutely loved staying. The property benefits from a driveway with parking for two cars and a beautiful well maintained garden to the rear- which is a suntrap all day. It is 10/15 minutes walk into the heart of Brixham - no ridiculous flights of steps (always a bonus). The property itself is a large recently modernised house, clean, tidy with some lovely furnishings throughout. The kitchen contains everything you could possibly need and we loved the welcome basket. The utility room is a very useful addition and we loved sitting in the conservatory. The location is easy to access with a car and the driveway makes it very easy to load and unload. We visited The Prince William Pub, Berry Head Hotel and JR's for meals but there are so many eateries in Brixham it's hard to choose. We love Brixham and would definitely like to stay again as the property and location are perfect.
