The impressions we both felt from walking through the front gate right through to the back door, was one of neglect. The messy garden, filthy gas meter cupboard, window ledges and the bottom of the door frame all needed attention. This was before entering the cottage itself. Dirty finger marks on the side of the fridge door and some crumbs inside meant I cleaned it before putting our food away. A lot of TLC is needed besides skirting boards, window sills , window cleaning. There are positives. Proximity to the coast, nice towels, bedding and crockery. Wall pictures and furniture also nice. Encouraged by a family member who owned a cleaning business and saw the house for herself, I contacted classic cottages to alert them about what we felt....

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Solent View Cottage, which far exceeded our expectations! The cottage was spotless and had every facility we needed for a really relaxing stay. The garden was a real bonus - perfect for relaxing in the sun. The location is perfect for exploring the local area by foot - a walk along the seafront to Cowes is a must. We fell in love with the Isle of Wight and would definitely stay at Solent View Cottage again - excellent value for money!...

This is a great little cottage with a lovely garden. It is very clean and well equipped. It is about 5 minutes walk from the sea, although uphill on the way back! You can walk along the coast to Cowes in about 30 mins. It is easy to park in the street. We enjoyed our stay....
