Squirrel Nutkin at Roe Wood

Squirrel Nutkin was above and beyond our expectations, every facility and luxury has been a joy to remember. We eventually ventured out of our snugly haven and followed a short-ish path leading up to Helman Tor, with amazing panoramic views across Cornwall. We were intrigued by the friendly Belted Galloway Cattle and were delighted by beautiful weather we received all weekend. We also walked to The Lanlivery Crown Inn and had a very friendly and welcoming reception. The time we enjoyed has been really good for us, both as a de-stress and a much needed pause. Loved the views and surroundings. Very private and peaceful. Accommodation so perfect and comfortable. Everything had been thought of to make the stay so enjoyable. Very comfortable bed. Fully working kitchen. Jacuzzi spot on. Definitely recommend a visit to this little gem. ...

Absolutely loved my stay at Squirrel Nutkin. Log cabin was lovely clean and cosy, hot tub fantastic highly recommend , will definitely be booking again.

We had a great stay at Squirrel Nutkin during the rainy first week of January. The cabin is super cosy and warm, and equipped with everything you need, as well as some lovely touches like robes for the hot tub and tea and local chocolate. We travelled there by train, and owners Jo and Brian were really kind in giving us lifts to and from the station, and even the Eden Project one day, which saved us a small fortune in cabs. They also recommended a lovely local farm shop (Colwith) which is well stocked and within walking distance. We also walked to the Crown Inn, which is very old and cosy with lovely staff. Bring wellies for the walk, and look out for lots of robins on the way! The cabin has a gorgeous view out across the meadows and to the sea in the distance, and some long tailed tits visit the bird feeder every day, which you can watch through the binoculars provided. We also saw kestrels and bats and heard owls. The hot tub is great, and on a clear night out there the stars are amazing, as there is so little light pollution. The decking can be cold and slippery when wet so bring sliders/flip flops. We would recommend Squirrel Nutkin to everyone, it’s perfect for hunkering down and enjoying the hot tub and view (or the smart TV if it’s really rainy), or getting out and exploring Cornwall as it’s so close to so many nice places. I honestly cannot praise this place enough, it was perfect. It is extremely well equipped, warm, under bed storage for clothes, washing machine for you and the other lodge to use, clothes rail to dry clothes, iron and ironing board, unlimited logs for log burner, hottub was clean and hot with baths robes. Very comfy bed and sofa, good size fridge, freezer, oven and hobs. We cooked here every night for a week. The lodge is much more spacious than expected and the TV is on a hinge to pull towards sofa. Although, it is in a forest and very dark. We kept the sliding door open every evening because we felt very safe and secure. We heard owls and birds every morning, it was fantastically peaceful and beautiful. Owners were very helpful and text back very quickly. They were not intrusive and text to ask if it’s okay to check hot tub if they knew you were still in. I cannot wait to be back!!!...
