We have become regulars because the accommodation and Seaview as a location fits our needs for a quiet ('classic' ?!) summer holiday.

Would definitely stay here again. Very comfortable and conveniently located. We had everything we needed.

We're so pleased to hear that you've enjoyed your stay at 6 Seaview House and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Shaleen, Customer Support

We have been staying at 6 Seaview House in Seaview based upon the details shown on your website.

The apartment itself is well appointed and well equipped, but the cleanliness lets it down badly.

I was not going to comment until we returned home, but we did not want the next guests to have the same issue – having said that, we will be leaving it clean.

We were called on Wednesday 30th June, two days prior to our arrival, to advise us that there was building work going on at the next property and were asked whether we wished to cancel or have a 20% discount, which we accepted as we had pre-planned our visit for the following week, having made prior bookings for our week away.

Upon arrival, the building work is actually huge and the planning notice on the lamp post outside states that the application was made 18th August 2022 and clearly the erection of the scaffolding and building work must have commenced some considerable time ago but we were told that you had only found out about it when you called. I believe you have an office in Seaview so I find that quite baffling.

We were told the builders would be working from 8am until 4pm weekdays. On the morning of Wednesday 7th June, there was banging and crashing at 7.45am and also two builders vans parked in the drive of Seaview House. Admittedly they did move when I came back from the shops in my car and struggled to park. However, at 8.55am they have just returned and parked there. I suggest someone from your Seaview office comes and has a look. It appears that one of the workers is working on the flat directly above – it would have been courteous for us to have been informed of this too.

Regarding the cleanliness, I have previously sent images to demonstrate the issue.

The main shower room toilet was dirty and had to be cleaned before use – I clearly haven’t put a picture of this in the file, but it was off-putting from the start. There was a single sheet of toilet roll in the bathroom and a quarter of a roll in the ensuite bathroom – fortunately we had our own supplies, but I would have expected a toilet roll to be in place on arrival.

The shower itself was dirty in the corner of the base and the shower fixing hasn’t been cleaned for months (shown on one of the images).

The cork mat in the bathroom is disgusting – it was wet underneath and has a crack in it. When moved, it had hair and all sorts underneath it (shown in image) – the floor had to be cleaned by us.

One of the throws for the bed in the main bedroom has blood on it.

There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the main bedroom.

The dressing table in the middle room had hair all over it and clearly hadn’t been dusted and the mirrors and tables in the third bedroom were covered in dust.

The kitchen cupboards were sticky, and the fridge door had to be wiped.

The dishwasher was full (and remains so) – every item we have used, we have had to wash by hand to ensure cleanliness. ~

We're really sorry to hear that you found issues with the cleanliness and that the building works started just before your stay. We were pleased that you felt able to continue your holiday at the reduced price to reflect the impact of the nearby work. You notified us about some cleanliness concerns towards the end of your stay but chose not to take up the offer of a reclean at that point. We would've loved to know about these concerns earlier in your stay, so we could've resolved them for you more quickly. We're sorry that you didn't feel able to accept our additional refund offer. Your feedback has been shared with the owner, who has investigated this with the housekeeper. Thanks so much for letting us know. Shaleen, Customer Support

A lovely light, comfortable apartment with a pretty little garden. Perfectly situated to explore Seaview and its facilities.

A very comfortable flat, perfectly located in a quiet corner in the centre of the village. Well equipped kitchen for self catering. Highly recommended for family of 6. We would certainly book again.

Tasteful and tranquil.

Stayed here before so re- booking says it all. Position is excellent in the beautiful location of Seaview. Also booked many properties through classic cottages who are always really helpful and efficient.

This lovely bright and airy property is in an excellent location. Ideal for a few nights break or a longer stay. We visited with elderly parents, the single level accommodation, hand rails at both the front and back door and the designated parking right outside the front door made life easier for us all. Would recommend and stay again.

Beautifully presented and very generously equipped and a lovely "holiday house", as our grandchildren christened it, in a perfect (and quiet) location for very quickly getting everyone onto the beach or into the High Street, and a bonus was the safe garden.

6 Seaview House is situated in a great location in Seaview & has sea glimpses from a couple of windows. It also has plenty of space for cars. The apartment itself is spacious & has a comfortable, light lounge with ample seating for eating or relaxing in.

A light and comfortable apartment which is relatively well equipped with good access to the sea. The one drawback for us was not having a double bed.

This is our second year staying in this property. We loved it last time and we loved it this time too. It is really well equipped and the location is fantastic. It is really quiet and yet it is a few minutes from the beach and the local shops. We will definitely be back.

Clean comfortable with lots of artistic touches very roomy for an apartment.

Nice size cottage but not much kitchen space.but overall quite comfortable

Very central, really well equipped and comfortable.

You should mention up to 4 max - no space for food prep or storage

I had a blissful few days staying at Seaview House. I thought the property was amazing and just like the description and photos online which led me to book. The location was excellent (just a few minutes from the beach and close to the local shops which are also great-particularly the Community Shop and the deli on the corner of Circular Road). The property has a lovely garden and is so well equipped. It really had everything you need for a good holiday. If I go to the Isle of Wight again, I will definitely look to see if this property is available.

Great location and well furnished. The gas barbecue that was advertised was not in working condition

It's great to hear you had a wonderful time overall though we're sorry that the barbecue wasn't in good condition. We've forwarded this to our Island colleagues to ensure this is addressed - thanks for letting us know. Bryony, Customer Support

This is a beautiful cottage, well situated with the beach a few minutes away. The garden catches the sun all day and is lovely to relax in. The property is very well equipped but some the kitchen needed some space to put supplies in as it the cupboards were full. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a great holiday base - either to expire the island or to enjoy the local amenities.

A very comfortable apartment, very very central with a lovely private garden. Really well equipped kitchen and very nicely furnished.

Well equiped and furnished. Close to sea with good meals at the Seaview hotel. Would certainly be happy to stay there again.
