Everything was great. Vicki should be very proud of her accommodation.

Vicki, the owner, was the perfect host. The welcome and generous selection of goodies and essentials were very much appreciated and the best we have ever come across. Our ebikes were accommodated safely in the barn opposite. The extensive gardens were amazing and a joy to explore along with meeting the sheep, dogs and cat. There are many treasures to be discovered in the area, such as The Granite Way, Lydford Gorge, Castle Drogo and Meldon Reservoir which is the gateway to Yes Tor. A walk to Sourton Tors is recommended and easy with great views. Cycling the country lanes and Pegasus Way is a pleasure, not forgetting a trip to the town of Okehampton and its independent retail outlets. We had a truly wonderful week at Lower Hewton Cottage and will have no hesitation in recommending this rental to our friends. Thankyou Vicki.

The hospitality we received from Vicki was outstanding. The homemade scones a welcome treat after the long drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, making friends with the dogs and sheep. So very peaceful, waking to the sound of the sheep was fantastic. If you want to have a peaceful, relaxing break, this is the place to stay.

We have taken self catering cottage holidays in England for the past ten years and Lower Hewton Cottage was one of the very best. The owner Vicky was exceptionally kind and welcoming. The cottage is excellent in all respects and its situation is in such a peaceful setting that both of us easily relaxed and enjoyed our Devonshire holiday. Particularly liked the expansive entrance as one entered from the lane. Gorgeous countryside all around. One couldnt help but feel felt quite enchanted.

Peace and quiet guaranteed .narrow lanes a bit hazourdous for large vehicles .dont expect posh fittings but vicki the host very welcoming and the arrival basket best yet a place to wind down and summer house a treat

The very friendly and helpful owner welcomed us with a full cream tea, as well as many other provisions. The cottage is clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable, with many extra little touches. It is worth noting that the access is along some very narrow lanes, which were flooded in part during our rainy week there!

Received a very warm welcome from Vicky, with many little unexpected extras. Beautiful building with an interesting history. If we're ever in the area again we would definitely choose to stay at Lower Hewton.

The extra welcome touches were lovely in that we had Milk, butter, eggs, fruit, jams and scones on our arrival. Tea and coffee was also provided and the kettle was ready boiled. Vicki the owner was very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely cottage lived up to it's description, well placed for visiting other parts of this beautiful area or just staying in the peace and quiet and relaxing. Very warm welcome with lots of treats to get you off to a good start for you holiday no matter how long it will be. We really enjoyed our stay.

The owner left us sweets, biscuits , fruit, milk, bread, butter, eggs, clotted cream, homemade jam and scones, and homemade marmalade. The most we have been provided whilst staying at cottages for last 30 years or so. 10/10. Very quiet location and plenty of wildlife about including owls calling in the woods at night. Beams in the bedroom amazing. Very enjoyable.

Property is as described and shown on the website. Very comfortable and peaceful, even heard the birds singing in the morning! The owner is very nice and dogs were friendly. Would highly recommend

A sweet, comfortable cottage that is situated perfectly for exploring both the north coast and Dartmoor. Cycling the Granite Way is a must, great way to got to Lydford Gorge.

Lower Hewton cottage is in all respects a place to stay when visiting Devon and Cornwall. It is a perfect and quiet location. There is ample space for 2 persons to live there for one or more weeks. All interesting places in Devon and Cornwall are within easy reach by car. We stayed for 14 days and loved the place and the people (and the dogs and cat). Weather was fine too.

A lovely property in a wonderful, quiet location. Easy access from A30 meant quick journeys around the area. Liked the peace and quiet - even the birds and sheep sounded noisy after a while! Particularly like the orphan lambs and the owners friendly dogs. Equipment in cottage looked brand new - everything we required was provided (inc scones and cream). Perfect break

The property was decorated to a very high standard. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Our hostess was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The location was fantastic. It is set in a lovely area and is handy for lots of attractions, the coast and Exeter. We can't praise the cottage or the owner enough.
