Received a very warm welcome from Vicky, with many little unexpected extras. Beautiful building with an interesting history. If we're ever in the area again we would definitely choose to stay at Lower Hewton.
Mrs Johnson July 2020
The extra welcome touches were lovely in that we had Milk, butter, eggs, fruit, jams and scones on our arrival. Tea and coffee was also provided and the kettle was ready boiled. Vicki the owner was very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely cottage lived up to it's description, well placed for visiting other parts of this beautiful area or just staying in the peace and quiet and relaxing. Very warm welcome with lots of treats to get you off to a good start for you holiday no matter how long it will be. We really enjoyed our stay.
Mr Fletcher September 2019
The owner left us sweets, biscuits , fruit, milk, bread, butter, eggs, clotted cream, homemade jam and scones, and homemade marmalade. The most we have been provided whilst staying at cottages for last 30 years or so. 10/10. Very quiet location and plenty of wildlife about including owls calling in the woods at night. Beams in the bedroom amazing. Very enjoyable.

A sweet, comfortable cottage that is situated perfectly for exploring both the north coast and Dartmoor. Cycling the Granite Way is a must, great way to got to Lydford Gorge.
Mr Van Smeden June 2015
Lower Hewton cottage is in all respects a place to stay when visiting Devon and Cornwall. It is a perfect and quiet location. There is ample space for 2 persons to live there for one or more weeks. All interesting places in Devon and Cornwall are within easy reach by car. We stayed for 14 days and loved the place and the people (and the dogs and cat). Weather was fine too.
Mr John April 2015
A lovely property in a wonderful, quiet location. Easy access from A30 meant quick journeys around the area. Liked the peace and quiet - even the birds and sheep sounded noisy after a while! Particularly like the orphan lambs and the owners friendly dogs. Equipment in cottage looked brand new - everything we required was provided (inc scones and cream). Perfect break
Mrs Bontoft August 2014
The property was decorated to a very high standard. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Our hostess was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The location was fantastic. It is set in a lovely area and is handy for lots of attractions, the coast and Exeter. We can't praise the cottage or the owner enough.
