Dawlish has a lovely sandy beach.
Shaldon is worth a visit and Teignmouth is just across the bridge.

We had a lovely break at The Forge. The front lawn was a perfect sun trap and the dog loved the walks around the surrounding fields. The cottage was very comfortable and clean, and it was a great location for exploring South Devon. Thank you also to such friendly and helpful owners - and for the delicious cream tea on arrival! ...

Accommodation on one level, so good for elderly, though there is one step to beware. Very nice shower with enough space to have a plastic chair to help elderly bathe. Lovely quiet situation and shared garden. Great cheese and bread shops in Bovey Tracey! Handy for southern Dartmoor and Devon Riviera. ...
