Ms Husen-Bradley October 2023
We loved our 6 night stay at Pebblestone cottage. The location with view across the harbour is spectacular. The view from the master bedroom is particularly stunning. The place is very well equipped, tastefully decorated and wonderfully cozy. Perfect for self catering as shops and restaurants are close by. Loved our stay in the seafood capital of Brixham and exploring the English riviera. The area is well served by local busses, a definite plus for us having travelled by train from Belgium without a car.
Mrs Smith September 2023
A lovely little cottage high above Brixham harbour with great views and very comfortable. Would be happy to stay there again.

We're overjoyed to hear that you found Pebblestones to be a lovely cottage, it is in the perfect area of Brixham for those great views. We wish to welcome you back again in the future. Meg, Customer Support
Mr Greenwood September 2023
To holiday in Brixham you must be able and of an age to climb lots of steps !!!
Reply from Classic Cottages
Thank you for that tip. As with a lot of the old fishing villages, Brixham has evolved over time and properties are being built further and further up and along the valley. Although there are steps, if you navigate them slowly, the views that you gain from being that high up are truly magnificent and well worth the climb. Donna, Customer Support
Mrs Williams April 2023
i loved my week here...both the cottage and Brixham itself. It was clean, thoughtfully furnished and easy to get to up the steps from town (you need to be somewhat fit). The view over the harbour from the bedroom and sitting room were so lovely. Cosy and comfortable even on a rainy day. I will be back!
Mrs Deans April 2023
Pebblestones is in a fab location overlooking the harbour, we deliberately booked for this reason knowing Brixham. Parking is what it is, just find a spot and use the bus if possible. Great bus service all around the area. Cottage was fine, well equipped, comfortable with good heating for Easter. We had 2 days of rain and it was so nice to have such a lovely place to chill at. On sunny days it was great to sit outside. All in all we would book again. Some furnishings a bit tired, but that is normal and Pebblestones was better than many places we have booked elsewhere.
Mrs Scott April 2023
Absolutely stunning views from both the lounge & main bedroom….whatever the weather! Close to local amenities including shops & some fantastic independent restaurants! House is comfortable with all equipment you could need.
Mrs. Riet March 2023
The house is beautifully located and fully equipped. It really is a house with a view. Everything you see in the photos is actually so when you walk into the house. You immediately feel welcome. The house is really super clean ( I should know I am a huge cleaner ) I also want to compliment the housekeeping and Classic Cottages how they helped us to solve the problem below, which did not succeed. In the end, we gathered all our courage and drove into the street with our Skoda Superb but we did run into the problem below. The house is on a very steep slope in a particularly narrow street. This makes access to the house extremely difficult. We come from the Netherlands and are not used to this kind of narrow steep slope street. If other residents of the street do not park the car extremely sharply ( against the side street )you may not be able to pass with your own car. Not to mention oncoming traffic you may also encounter on the road towards the house. The back of the house also has a very steep slope. Although the back entrance opens onto a street that is wider, and therefore parking easier, to take the steep stairs with your heavy luggage is actually not possible. We therefore recommend parking the car at Mount Road 20 and then moving the luggage manually to the house. This is still an undertaking but the safest option. Then when you are finally installed, it is beautiful but the above bump must have been taken.
Mr Rodgers September 2022
Pebblestones is a fantastic little cottage with stunning views over Brixham harbour. We sat for hours just watching the fishing boats come and go. It is very well equipped throughout with good quality furnishings, crisp linen and fluffy towels.
The double bedroom is spacious with a very comfy bed, two wardrobes and dressing table with mirror and light.
Previous reviews mentioned the difficulty in parking. We didn't have any problem in parking outside the cottage (Early September) but we imagine it could be not so easy in the busiest months.
We found the location perfect not only because of the breathtaking views but proximity to the harbour and town centre with shops, restaurants etc.
Visitors should be aware that the steps to rear of property are very steep and there are lots of steps around the town - so maybe not suited to anyone with mobility issues or young children.
Mr Baker July 2022
Fabulous location convenient for the town, lido and beaches The cottage has all the expected utilities and space for a family holiday Only things stopping me giving it 5 stars is the near vertical back garden and the difficult parking
Mr Elliott July 2022
A very well appointed cottage. Excellent location. Lovely and clean. The welcome pack was a very nice touch.
ms Anderson December 2021
Had a lovely stay for the New year. Pebblestone's is a comfy cottage, the kitchen was well equipped. Great location, fantastic views of the harbour. Walking distance into Brixham, steep steps so kept us fit. Nice variety of eating out places, especially Beamers great seafood, friendly staff.
Mr Taylor November 2021
Beautiful location. The steps up and down to the harbour could be a problem for some. We visited in November and found the cottage enchanting. In the summer we can imagine sitting on the front patio with a glass of wine and a BBQ, cooking local caught fish whilst watching the comings and goings in the harbour from such a wonderful vantage point. Loved every second. Shame we had to come home.
Mr Clouting September 2021
100% loved the place, had everything.
Ms Kirk September 2021
We had a lovely week at Pebblestones and would be happy to return and recommend. Absolutely loved sitting out on the front patio watching the world go by; great views of the harbour and Torbay, for breakfast, cup of tea after a long walk and evening drinks.
Mr Roberts July 2021
A wonderful cozy cottage with amazing views of Brixham harbour.
Mr Carter July 2021
A lovely cottage in a lovely location would be very happy to go back and would be more than happy to book with classic cottages again.
Mrs Lawson June 2021
Ideal location overlooking harbour in a lovely property
Mrs Marson June 2021
Pebbletones is a delightful holiday cottage in Brixham. The views out over the bay are hard to beat and you lose many hours watching the sun rise and the sun set from the glorious window seats. The cottage is a great base for your holiday but be prepared for the climb from the town - although I personally think the steps were worth it to enjoy the view. Catherine Marson
Mrs Bradley June 2021
This is a lovely cosy cottage with exceptional views across the harbour We loved it here
Ms Plakhova April 2021
The view from the cottage is absolutely delightful, especially from the master bedroom - sensational sunsets. Well designed living space, very close to everything in Brixham, with Berry Head walks reachable on foot too. Brixham itself is such a friendly place, a great place to explore.
Mr Moffat September 2020
Excellent accommodation. It provided everything we needed for the week. Fabulous view overlooking the harbour. It's hard work getting up the steps at the back of the house, but the view from the top patio is wonderful. Although we couldn't park at the house, there was ample space for the car in nearby roads, so not a problem. We did a lot of coast walking - the cliffs are quite demanding but very satisfying. Several small bays within half an hour's drive ideal for swimming. Would thoroughly recommend Pebblestones.
Mr Moffat September 2020
This has a fantastic location with magnificent views over the harbour. The cottage had everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. We needed to be fairly fit to use the stairs in the back of the cottage, but the brochure had warned us of this beforehand, so it came as no suprise. We had a wonderful week walking along the cliff tops and swimming in secluded, sandy bays south of Brixham. Highly recomment this property. Our first use of Classic Cottages, but will not be our last.
Mr Douglas August 2020
We are a family of 4 (2 young girls) and stayed here for a week in August 2020. We loved the cottage and loved Brixham. The town has a real buzz of both the local fishing industry and tourism. So many things to do with the kids- crabbing and Breakwater beach being our favourites. Lots of other attractions nearby by car or ferry across the bay. The cottage itself is perfectly located with stunning views across the harbour. The evening sun shines on the front of the property making sitting out and taking in the surroundings even nicer. One set of steps takes you into the heart of Brixham and you are right in the middle of everything. The cottage has everything you need (including good WiFi!) and we thought represented really good value for money. Only thing I would advise is about the roads and parking; there is no allocated parking space and the roads around the property are incredibly tight and hilly. If you have a big car it is worth planning the very last part of the journey to ensure you can use the bigger roads right until the last minute (google and car satnavs won’t do this). The roads to the rear of the property are best for this (you can access the property from either side once you get the keys). All that said, don’t let the roads and parking put you off this gem of a property.
Mr Greenhalgh February 2019
We stayed at Pebblestones during February half term, out of season it is very quiet in Brixham but this adds to the charm at this lovely cottage. The views are fantastic and the open fire adds a special cosy touch. we will definitely be back. The owners have responded to previous feedback about cleanliness too, we found the cottage nice and clean and warm too.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and so pleased that you found the cottage clean, warm and cosy - even in the winter! Maybe a return trip in the summer is on the cards...? Tanya, Customer Support
Mrs Cambridge October 2018
Very warm, comfortable, clean cottage with lovely views! But be very aware of the steepness and narrowness of the approaches by car and on foot - not for the older generation!
Mrs Turner September 2018
It was our 4th time to Brixham, but our first time at Pebblestones. A lovely welcome cake and pint of milk, very much appreciated after a 7 hr journey. Lovely cottage with all the necessisities and with amazing views. Would be very happy to stay here again.
Mr Nelson August 2018
What was probably once a wonderful property with great views, has been let down by poor maintenance and neglect. Some tender love and care could simply restore this cottage to its former glory. If the necessary maintenance was carried out, we would be happy to pay a return visit.

Thank you for your review of Pebblestones; we were pleased that you liked the view. The house has had some busy seasons which does result in some wear and tear. We know that the owners strive for high standards and have recently taken on a new housekeeping and maintenance team to help ensure these standards. Alison, Customer Support
Mr Pearson July 2018
It needs a good clean and threshening up. But the views are fantastic from the cottage.

We're so sorry to hear that you felt the cleanliness could have been better - we've shared your feedback with the owner and housekeeper so that they can review the usual cleaning routine. The owners are hugely sorry for any oversight and we know they've been in touch directly. Tanya, Customer Support
Mr Everett July 2018
Great location and very comfortable well equipped cottage but cleanliness let it down so could only give it 7/10

Frau Theil July 2018
If you want to get to know the normal England with a nice view and a bit of sport, you should go there.
Miss Brooker May 2018
Loved everything about Pebblestones. The stunning views from the cottage day and night were amazing. Looking forward to returning to Brixham soon.

Mrs Gibbins September 2017
Lovely cottage of a very good standard in the heart of Brixham.
Mr Jones August 2017
We think pebblestones is a wonderfull place loads of good nemories and a small home away from home with a breathtaking view. Sitting at the window with a glass of wine looking over brixham is heaven.
Mr Sharkey April 2017
Wonderful views from this extremely well positioned and equipped cottage. The books, games and DVDs are a thoughtful addition. Very comfortable beds.
Miss Houghton February 2017
The window seats with views over the harbour make this property special, along with its close proximity to Brixham's shops, restaurants and lovely little cafes. This is the perfect place for watching the world go by; the sight of the fishing boats coming and going makes a lazy day just perfect!
Mrs Wrafter September 2016
Location.Improve the driving directions. Say 'turn left into Greater Rhea Road' Allow the customer to turn the heating on or provide the logs as promised, rather than make us sit under a duvet in the lounge to keep warm. Provide the telescope as promised.
Reply from Classic Cottages
Thanks so much for taking the time to review Pebblestones. We'll certainly look at the directions to see if we can incorporate your suggestion. We're sorry you were chilly; although the heating hadn't been requested when you booked, we'd have been happy to arrange for this to be turned on had you called us. The first basket of logs should have been there for your arrival and we're sorry for the oversight. We're not sure where the telescope has gone so will investigate with the housekeeper - thanks for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Support
Ms Featherstone August 2016
A homely, comfortable and well equipped cottage with incredible views that are hard to leave.
Ms Featherstone February 2016
A cosy and comfortable cottage with mesmerising views. Hard to leave!
Mr Empson November 2015
Classic Cottages were very professional and efficient in all aspects of this booking. Nothing was too much trouble and returned calls when they said they would. Would definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.
Mrs Tombs September 2015
Beautiful view and lovely state of decoration. Very snug and the information folder was helpful. Extremely convenient for town and for the cliff walks. Super value, we were very happy with it.
Mr Williams April 2015
Having stayed at Pebblestones three times (and hoping to stay many more times) it is comforting to know that when we arrive the cottage is always in immaculate condition, very well equipped and everything in good condition. In short, we travel in confidence knowing that we will feel at home immediately we arrive.
Mrs Davies July 2014
Beautiful setting and a very clean and comfortable cottage, close to all local amenities. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.
Mrs Brown April 2014
This cottage has a lovely view of the harbour, comfy beds and a great location for Brixham itself. However, this property quite clearly had not been checked over before our arrival (or for some time in months) as it was a disaster! No heating all week (going down to under 5 degrees at night), shower leaking through kitchen ceiling, gas not connected on range (hose wasn't long enough), extractor sounds like it is going to explode, the velux leaked in the kitchen when it rained and twin bedroom stank of smoke after the fire had been lit for a while (we had to move our 6 year old son into our room for last 2 nights). We went away for my birthday as a treat and certainly got more than we bargained for. I know the back steps are mentioned - but they really are frighteningly steep and you tend to use them a lot as you cannot park at the front of the property.
Reply from Classic Cottages
We are genuinely sorry about the problems you had at Pebblestones - although unexpected issues do happen, it's rare for them all to happen at once! As we've already discussed, our Property Manager Jacqui visited the house just before your arrival on 4th April to inspect the newly fitted kitchen. Unfortunately she didn't know that the cooker hadn't been connected, and there was no sign of the leak or heating problem that subsequently occurred. We know the Housekeeper offered portable heaters as a temporary measure and tried to arrange repairs on the Sunday of your stay, before you called us on Wednesday - we fully appreciate your wish not to be disturbed further by engineers or to take up our offer of moving to another property at that point. I know that you have spoken with Jacqui by phone and email, and hope the refund made demonstrates the sincerity of our apology for the disruption and disappointment. As a final point, we must reassure future guests that the issues have now all been fully resolved. Tanya, Customer Support
Mrs Lawless September 2013
This cottage has amazing views and many an hour can be spent sitting on the window seat looking out over the harbour. Very well designed and planned to make the most of the space. Easy access to the harbour and surrounding area by foot as long as you are happy with steps.
Mr Williams September 2013
We absolutely loved our stay in Pebblestones. The cottage was in good condition and spotlessly clean, and the welcome pack of tea and coffee and the bottle of bubbly in the fridge was a really nice touch. The owners had obviously put considerable thought into helping guests make the most of the holiday, providing things like binoculars and telescope, a good selection of books and games etc. The view is just amazing and we never tired of it. It was a joy to sit on the bench in front of the cottage and watch the endless activity in the harbour. The rear steps really are as steep as they look in the photo and need to be treated with care, and be prepared for steep hills and narrow roads - but that is what makes Brixham such a magical place. We were very reluctant to leave Pebblestones and hope to return next year.
Mr Wachtler July 2013
Nice place to stay, very easy to come to township (5´) enough place for 4 a lot of charakter
Mr Green June 2013
