Our best ever holiday rental...a real 'home from home'. We spent a lot of time just relaxing in the cottage in it's peaceful setting. We hope to be back next year!

This is an exceptionally well equipped, spacious and comfortable cottage. There were 3 of us but could easily cope with 6.

We had a very pleasant week in the cottage. Be aware that the access roads are very narrow single track roads with high banks or hedges.
Ms Wilson July 2021

Superb host and accomodation
Mrs Dunning May 2021
We have stayed at numerous self catering properties over the years and Knights Barton is the best equipped cottage we have stayed in. They have thought of everything, and as we mostly like to cater for ourselves, we did so with great ease. We have found that a lot of properties haven’t provided enough space for food items but there was plenty of cupboard space provided. There was a lovely large fridge and freezer and as well as an electric cooker, there is a very welcoming warm electric Aga. We found an amazing choice of DVD’s, books for all ages and a plentiful amount of games provided. The property was very clean and spacious and very well maintained. The community pub in the village is very good and serves excellent food. The staff are very friendly and efficient and when we visited we felt very safe in relation to COVID regulations. Highly recommended.
Mrs Billingsley May 2021
We were very impressed by this cottage and its location and hope to return.
Mrs Robinson May 2021
One of the best, well equipped and comfortable cottages we have ever stayed in. Great location to get out and about but also very relaxing to stay put and watch the wildlife.
Mrs Breeze September 2020
Lovely cottage, highly recommended, quiet location, nicely situated, happy to return.
Liked everything - a perfect cottage.
As far as we are concerned the cottage was of a high standard fitted out with everything you could possibly want. It was home from home. Would be happy to go back.
Mrs Morris September 2019
A very spacious and comfortable cottage. Kept lovely and warm with the Aga in the kitchen but also the option to light the woodburner or turn on the storage heaters.
Ms Alkins August 2019
Set in a pretty, quiet village, the cottage is spotlessly clean, spacious, beautifully maintained and extremely well equipped. The hospitable hosts have gone to considerable trouble to meet - and exceed - guests' requirements. And welcoming, home-baked cakes on arrival too; it's no wonder the visitors' book is full of people returning!
Ms Lee April 2019
Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. It is especially suitable if you have a dog.
Miss Crawley September 2018
This cottage is first class. Beautifully furnished and incredibly clean.
I would highly recommend this cottage.
Mr Meelis August 2018
We hired a lot of cottages in the past years. But this was number 1 of all
Mrs Cooper May 2018
This was the fifth time we have returned to Knights Barton, and we love it more each time. It is an idyllic location, so peaceful and relaxing, the cottage is amazing, and furnished to the highest specifications - it cannot be beaten for us.
Mrs Gale March 2018
The loveliest cottage we have ever stayed in! Cannot fault it - well equipped, spacious and comfortable with friendly and welcoming hosts.
Mr Manser October 2017
Excellent location in small village with local pub. Essential provision shops a short drive away. First class furnishings and fittings. Very clean and very welcoming. Ideal accommodation. We will return as soon as we can. Thank you
Mrs Scott-Bromley September 2017
An excellent cottage in a lovely setting - we enjoyed meeting the dogs and horses! The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Mrs Cooper May 2017
This is the fourth time we've visited Knights Barton and we cannot recommend it highly enough - everything is just perfect. Just can't wait for the next visit.
Mrs Stephenson May 2017
We spent a delightful peaceful week at Knight's Barton where the discreet attention of Heather, the owner, was much appreciated. The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival and a Victoria sponge in the cake tin was five star! The prettily planted sheltered small sunny courtyard garden with its easy access from the big glass doors even has an optional babbling water feature.
We loved the high quality comfortable beds , the spacious ground floor ,the huge fridge freezer, the idyllic view across Somerset , the thick bedroom curtains, the ease of parking and access--not every former farmyard gate is as sraightforward to open.
We visited nearby Cothay Manor with its superb gardens as seen on TV a few years ago on Country House Rescue. Finding it can be challenging ! We enjoyed browsing in Wellington with its many individual shops and a bustling Waitrose. Knight's Barton ticks all our boxes.
Mr McDonald September 2016
Perfect property in excellent position. Very well equipped.
Miss Stockley June 2016
This is a beautiful cottage is lovely and peaceful location within the sleepy village of Halse. It is perfectly located to visit everywhere.
The cottage is like a home from home and the owners have thought about everything to make your stay perfect from the huge collection of books, DVDs and games for all ages to the welcoming home baked cake and milk on arrival.
I really cannot think of anything that would have made my stay any better.
Mr Beba September 2015
A beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, well equipped accommodation in a picturesque location.
Mrs Samwell July 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Knights Barton. The cottage itself is wonderful, spacious rooms, very well equipped with a home from home feel. The outside courtyard is great for dogs. The best cottage we have stayed in over the years. The owners Heather and Mike are very friendly and are there to help if needed. The location is perfect for getting out and about to see local attractions. We would definitely recommend the cottage and will be returning for another visit.
Mrs Rattray June 2015
This is a lovely spacious barn conversion, which is very well equipped. The owners are very welcoming, available if needed but not at all intrusive. We think it is really good value for money. We had a most enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend Knights Barton to anybody wanting peace and quiet in beautiful countryside but within easy reach of towns. The steam train from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead is a must.
Mr Godfrey May 2015
This is a top of the range property. Everything we could have wanted - not to mention some extras - is included in the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas. The owners, Heather and Mike, are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. All in all a most enjoyable stay. Don't tell too many people or we'll not be able to get in next time we want to go to Somerset!!
Mrs Hayward October 2014
Thoroughly enjoyed our week. Appreciated the cake and milk on arrival. The whole cottage was very spacious and loved the walk in wardrobes in both bedrooms. Made good use of the log burner which made the cottage very warm and cosy in the evenings. A wonderful place for a chill out week.
Had two nice meals in the 'local' the New Inn. Good location for various gardens, houses, and attractions for all ages.Had forgotten how lovely Somerset was.
Mr Beba September 2014
It's the most comfortable, well equipped, cleanest property we've ever stayed in
Mrs Hofmann June 2014
The house was absolutely a dream! The owners were very friendly and as a welcome there was a cake and a bottle of milk in the kitchen for the first tea. After our arrival the owner came to explain everything. The house is in a wonderful area where you can relax in your holidays. You have your own entrance, parking place and when you come the rabbits are running on the field. Behind the house and in front of there are terraces. You can sit on your own, hearing the birds, seeing the sheeps and other animals. The garden is ful of nice flowers so that it is so nice to sit there. The house is top equiped and lovely decorated. Everything you need is there. The beds are a dream and the linen and towels smell so good. The kitchen is also great and full of all facilities, including a separate room with the washing machine and a dryer. The wintergarden and the diningroom are nice and you can sit there and have a look in the garden. Further there were a lot of books to read, DVDs to watch and games you can play if the weather is bad. We were very sad when the holidays came to the end and we had to leave. I apologize for my mistakes, but I´m German and english is not my first language. But I hope I could simplify how delighted we were of the house and the whole conditions.
Mr Joy May 2014
Glad we found your company and this cottage. Dexter Dog loved it. Friendly experience all round.
Mrs Harkin May 2014
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and the opportunity to take advantage of peace and quiet in a beautiful setting in the Somerset countryside, then Knights Barton is exactly what the doctor ordered.
