Fred’s House is so clean, comfortable and homely. Perfect location for a trip to the beach to rock pool for crabs. Lovely garden full of interesting birds to spot. Even a woodpecker. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back. Thanks to Sarah for being such a welcoming and helpful host....

The steep hill from the beach was fine for us but could be a problem for some people to walk.

Fred's House is situated five minutes up the hill from the family-firendly beaches at Talland - however should you need a rest there is a hotel half way up the hill that would offer welcome refreshments and a car park at the bottom of the hill that has plenty of space for dropping people off. Given the exceptional circumstances of Covid-19 everything possible had been done to make our stay as normal as possible. We really enjoyed the scones / jam / clotted cream left out for when we arrived. The owner was lovely and considerate, welcoming us and checking with us the evening before we left that everything had been okay with our stay. We were very lucky to have such fantastic weather which meant we spent a lot of time at the beach just a short walk away which also has wonderful cafe. The cottage is surrounded by a lovely gardens which we also enjoyed spending time in. We would highly recommend Fred's house for anyone who would enjoy a quiet holiday in a beautiful location. ...

Fred's house was in a lovely location, spotlessly clean and a fantastic holiday home. We would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again, perhaps we could organise better weather as Storm Dennis brought gales and heavy rain so we probably didn't see Fred's House and it's location at it's best. The fact that we had a lovely holiday in spite of the weather is testament to the warmth and comfort provided by Fred's House....
