As you head up the stairs you will find the two bedrooms. This is the main bedroom with a comfy double bed.
Heating at Mrs Higgs is supplied solely by the three wood-burners. One in each bedroom and the third downstairs.
This truly is the most charming getaway, allowing you to experience life from a time gone by.
The second bedroom is a twin, perfect for children or friends if you are on a group getaway.
We truly love this quirky stone cottage.

Absolutely incredible place. Stayed here for my son's 16th, he was amazed! Rooms are so cosy, I was worried that we wouldn't get that cosy cottage vibe due to the heat but the surrounding forest kept the excessive heat at bay so we could enjoy everything. The hot tub stays hot for a long time once it's allowed to really warm up, just keep the covers on. You really are away from it all here, but there is a cute coffee shop not far from the estate entrance if you fancy a treat. Cooking outside and stalking deer (with a camera) was a highlight. Also, enjoyed seeing the photo album of the restoration done to the property, great work to that team. Very keen to get back in autumn and settle in for some fireside reading. And thanks to Suzi for her help and advice. x...

Was really cosy and sweet. Loved how paired back everything was, found it really calming and let me reflect over my life in general. Great to slow down and do some creative hobbies without any technology! The fires set the scene and the hot tub once hot was a treat especially with all those stars! Would recommend some solar fairy lights in that area however. We heard a tawny owl and a few woodpeckers, was great to just be with nature. Our dog Rosie loved it too. We really did enjoy our stay, great to reconnect as humans, interesting to be without any distractions or technology. Strange at first how quiet it is! It honestly was unlike anything I have done before and I will definitely be back in the winter months. ...

What a beautiful place to stay! We had a truly wonderful time at Mrs Higgs, exploring the forest, relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying reading in front of the fire. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfy. There is sporadic phone signal so you aren’t 100% cut off, good if there’s an emergency. The bathroom is better than your average camping bathroom! The wood fired hot tub was delightful and stayed hot for hours. ...
