Week Cottage is a self-contained part of an historic farmhouse on the edge of Exmoor. The setting is peaceful, off the beaten track, yet very easy to get to.

The open plan ground floor has a wood-burning stove and so much character.
There is a pretty, enclosed place to sit at the front of the cottage too.
The dining-table is tucked in one corner of the room.
This is the bespoke fitted kitchen, perfectly in keeping with the cottage and its atmosphere.
The boot-room where you can sort out boots and dogs before going in to the living-area.
The bedroom with its antique brass bed is on the first floor, at the top of the turning cottage stairs.
Low window sills and wooden shutters celebrate this wonderful stone cottage.
The bathroom, also on the first floor, offers an original roll-top bath as well as a shower cubicle.

There are interesting features throughout the cottage - this is the boot-room with its high ceiling.

The cottage nestles to the left-hand side of the farmhouse. This is a wonderful Exmoor setting, where dogs are welcome and walks are wonderful. The garden is just to the left of the cottage.
Come here if you want to switch off from the pressures of daily life. Walk from the front doorstep and discover fresh air, peace and quiet.
The famous Tarr Steps are an iconic Exmoor landmark.
Britain's largest land mammal - the Red Deer - can be found in many parts of Exmoor. You just have to keep your eyes open! In late September and October you can listen for the roaring of the stags during the rut.
The beautiful Exmoor scenery is so easy to reach from Week Cottage - you can simply walk up the hill to find some wonderful open space.
This is the lovely picnic spot by the river in Withypool. The shallow water is a great place for dogs to cool off.
Exmoor isn't just a summer destination - think of autumn! Cosy pubs, leafy walks blazing with colour, the Red Deer roaring..... Why not?
The native breed Exmoor Ponies (with their 'mealy' muzzle) are historic and endangered and, when you see a foal like this, absolutely adorable!

Week Cottage is the most idyllic place ran by the perfect hosts. Stephen and Vanessa made our stay - they are such friendly, helpful people. Stephen had so many recommendations for things to do and even let us meet his horses Kilkenny and Monty. Bella their dog is just gorgeous too. The cottage is stunning and has a lovely private garden off the side which we enjoyed breakfast and a brew in every single morning. It is beautifully decorated and very traditional. For the first time in a long time we slept in an area of absolute silence as the cottage is surrounded by rolling hills and peace. Although it’s in a secluded area, which we loved, there’s lots to do close by and Dulverton town has everything you could need. We were so sad to leave and go back to city life reality but can’t wait for the day we return! Thanks so much Stephen & Vanessa - all the best! ...

Week Cottage offers a peaceful and memorable retreat in a wonderfully secluded Exmoor setting. Although access is along a long, steep and narrow lane with passing places, this adds to the cottage’s special sense of isolation, with dark skies, natural sounds and easy access to the wild moors. The owners, who live next door, were warm, welcoming and helpful while remaining quiet and unobtrusive throughout the stay. The friendly dog and cats behaved similarly. Their love and excellent care of their horses also added interest, making the cottage particularly appealing to horse lovers. Overall, it is a rare and beautiful place for a relaxing countryside holiday. We were sad that we had only booked a week at the cottage and had to leave so soon....

Beautiful and very peaceful location. We didn't get in the car once, local bus service a couple of times a day from the pub in the village that runs down to Dulverton or in the opposite direction to Minehead. Open moors within a 1/2hr walk. Cottage a little warm due to the heating coming on and very limited room for storing your food other than that very nice. very nice owners who have put a lot of work into this lovely little place....

June 2025 Had a wonderful 2 weeks at week cottage. From the moment we arrived it felt very welcoming and relaxing. The hosts Vanessa and Steve were lovely. The cottage is attached to their home but still felt very private. If you want to stay in a cottage with real character, beautiful and quiet surroundings then this for you. We will be back....

Hosts, Cottage, Booking procedure, Exmoor, we couldn't fault in any way. Stephen and Vanessa were very welcoming and our holiday was perfect in every way. The description was spot on, off the beaten track and quiet, however very accessible. The welcome extras were very much appreciated. We woke every day to birdsong and in our case we were fortunate to be blessed with amazing weather. Very much appreciated to be able to talk to 'a real person' in your office, which made the booking more personal, instead of having to do everything on line.
