In fact, when the Fisherman's Friends sing on the quay in the summer months, you only need to open the front door to hear their delightful sea shanties.

Once home to the skipper of the Jolie Brise, arguably one of the most famous tall ships of all time, the current owners have taken this traditional three-storey terraced cottage and lovingly created and curated a wonderful holiday retreat that celebrates a colourful palette, with individual design and a bold artistic flair.

Step inside and the open plan living-room sets to greet you, where comfy leather Chesterfields surround the toasty wood-burning stove, inviting relaxation and conversation. Prepare delicious picnics and holiday treats in the kitchen - but with not one, but two, Nathan Outlaw restaurants in the village and a whole host of other great places to eat and drink, there really won't be any need for you to be cooking whilst at Jolie Brise.

Head up the stairs and the family bathroom is pretty in pink on the first floor, the perfect excuse for a leisurely holiday soak. Alongside is the main bedroom, an incredibly spacious and grand room, decorated in gold and green with its own dressing-area and large en suite shower-room. The narrow stairs take you up to the second floor to discover two romantic and whimsical bedrooms, tucked under the eaves - they feel like a secret retreat.
