Nearby pub
Situated on the coast path between Fishguard and St Davids, this traditional pub is open daily and an ideal place to stop for refreshments. Food is locally sourced, including locally caught fish and daily specials are available. Booking is adviseable.
Nearby beach
This beach is a great place to hunt for tiny graptolite fossils. It's also a good place for snorkeling and close to the Blue lagoon for diving and kayaking. There's good access to the beach via a path but little by way of facilities due to its rural location. In summer there is usually an ice cream van in the large car park. Dogs are welcome year round.
Nearby walk
This picturesque coastal walk takes in the path along the coast from Abereiddi and then inland from Porthgain through pretty countryside. Passing the iconic Blue Lagoon, pretty Porthgain Harbour and dramatic cliffs, this walk is a must. Thanks to our friends at the National Trust you can follow their map where the walk starts at Porthgain but as it's circular you can pick it up at any point.
Nearby town
A charming village with an attractive harbour. In the 18th and 19th centuries, it was a flourishing seaport exporting slate and shale. Now it is a quaint harbour occupied by small fishing boats. Don't miss the opportunity to buy crab fresh off the boat when the fishermen return. Have dinner in - or outside at Sloop Inn, and enjoy some of the finest Fish and Chips at the Shed where locally caught crab and lobster are also served.

Delightful visit
Charming harbour and a lovely walk. Unfortunately we didn’t check opening times of the Shed so we never managed to find it open to try the fish and chips. Lovely art gallery there. Beautiful site for a sunset photo.
Also nearby
With an emphasis on fresh local fish, there is always a meat and vegetarian option available. There's a relaxed atmosphere and this is the ideal place to go for fish and chips. It's adviseable to check opening times as this does vary throughout the year.

Great fish
The fish and chips were excellent, as was the coffee and the service. Very welcome after a walk along the coastal path.
Would definitely recommend.
Open year round, apart from Christmas Day, call in for seasonal Welsh dishes and fresh local fish alongside a warm welcome for all the family. At the weekend you'll often find local bands playing live music.

Warm welcome
We loved this pub which was always welcoming and the food was good.
Meet at the beach for some crazy coasteering fun. Enjoy cliff jumping, diving, belly flopping and scrambling your way along the coast. Give the team a call and look forward to your next adventure.
Until 1910 this was a slate quarry, it was then abandonded and flooded and when a channel was blasted to connect it to the sea, the Blue Lagoon was created. Today it's popular with watersports enthusiasts who come here to kayak and coasteer. It has even been the location for the world series diving championships. If you do decide to take a dip take care, it is very deep and very cold.
A takeaway cafe and shop, selling local produce, high end craft, sandwiches and excellent coffee. They even have an aquarium so you can take home the live catch of the day.
