St Agnes’ pride and joy, Trevaunance Cove boasts the dramatic aesthetics typical of Cornwall’s north coast. Soaring cliffs and golden sands are complemented by a labyrinth of caves and the almighty Atlantic lapping at its shores. Popular amongst families and sport-lovers alike, Trevaunance Cove is not one to forget.
This stunning walk will take you along the coastal path around St Agnes Head. En-route you will pass Wheal Coates Engine House and then climb up the Beacon for a panoramic view from St Ives to Newquay.
St Agnes lies in the heart of Cornwall’s mining heritage; all along the coast here you’ll see old mining engine houses rising from the cliffs. The steep and narrow streets here are lined with almost unbearably quaint, higgledy-piggledy cottages.
Beautiful little town.
A beautiful town with very friendly people, great fish and chips and perfect location for accessing the nearby beach.
Especially recommend the lovely ladies in the flower shop.
This light and airy bistro style restaurant offers delightful menus using the finest local produce. Whether it's a light lunch, evening meal or Sunday roast you are seeking, they are sure not to disappoint!
We had an excellent meal at Taste, with good service and a varied (mainly seafood) menu. The price was reasonable for the quality of food received and there was a nice ambience.
This delightful little restaurant is a gem, we were really warmly welcomed in by the very attentive waitress. It only seats around 25 people, which adds to its appeal for me, it's beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. We called in for lunch - and were not disappointed with the freshly made crab sandwiches we indulged in! I would definitely visit again - maybe next time for dinner, the menu sounded lovely and all the food that was brought out looked fabulous, very reasonably priced too! Be sure to make a booking as my guess is they get quite busy!
Say Perranporth to anyone from Cornwall and they will immediately know where you mean. A popular family-friendly beach on the edge of Perranporth town, Perranporth Beach is a huge three-mile belt of golden sand meeting an expanse of blue sea. A hit amongst all ages, Perranporth appeals to all, from sports enthusiasts looking to hit the waves to sun-lovers ready to kick back in the sand. A natural sea pool by Chapel Rock means that everyone of all abilities can enjoy the water and lifeguards are on duty in the summer. Dogs on leads are allowed year-round and all facilities are available nearby.
Lovely beach, if you walk a bit further round its less busy and loads of room for the kids to run around. The only problem we occurred was some people not controlling their dogs, mind the majority were well behaved.
A good sandy beach and great for body boarding. Has all the amenities and we were able to hire wetsuits and body boards which was very handy.
This beach s a wonderful place for all ages. Kids have lots of beach to run and play , adults will love the surf and there is also a volley ball court. The Watering Hole is a must for good food and drink and is right on the beach! Thoroughly recommend it.
Great Beach. Good access. Kids loved it.Ended the day with Nacho's and beers at The Watering Hole
Beautiful beach. Wide open spaces. Perfect for walking, horse riding and watching watersports.
This beach and the surrounding area are great! If you don't fancy getting your feet covered in sand then the benches and grass areas overlooking the beach are great to sit and have a picnic. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Superb for the Family
This is a great beach the whole family can enjoy. Three miles of sand. Great for surfing, sandcastle building, lifeguarded swimming areas and easy access to nearby facilities including plenty of places to hire or buy a wetsuit. Can get crowded on sunny days in the summer.
On windy days the nearby Trevaunance Cove (South) or Holywell (North) can often be more sheltered.
Dogs can be walked on the beach here year round.
Nudists from Army Camp lurk at the far North End.
Offering adrenaline filled days out, at various locations along the Cornish coast. Coasteering and surfing trips are tailor made to suit all ages and abilities. Find your sense of adventure and make it a day to remember!
I've been fortunate enough to have several trips out with Coastal Rush. The beauty of the hidden coastline and the massive adrenalin rush experienced never fails to amaze me.
Serving homecooked, wholesome fare, with a log fire to snuggle up by in winter and a garden to go al fresco in summer. The Miners is located in Mithian village on the road from St Agnes to Perranporth.
Topped our expactations.
This pub was recommended by our host and it was a true live-saver on our first evening in Cornwall. The food was delicious and the staff was lovely.
A great country pub serving amazing food. A warm welcome to families and the menu suits all ages. A short walk from Rose in Vale Cottage.
Pleasant pub, a very short walk from Rose-In-Vale Cottage. Good beer, fairly good food.
This lovely old traditional Cornish Inn is reputed to have its own ghost! Serves good food, especially Sunday lunches.
This community hub is open for light refreshments in the cafe during the day, they also have a bar which is open to the public.
Lottery funded community club
We found this place on our last day and hadn't realised it was open to the public!!..The bar prices were one of the cheapest in St Agnes if not the cheapest..Friendly locals..Great atmosphere...And dog friendly too which is always a bonus plus it has wheelchair access.
