You can visit the ruins of the 12th Century castle, before dropping into one of South Bay's many fish restaurants, locally-caught lobster is a speciality of the area. Further afield, drive across the wild moors and take in the breathtaking views and the beautiful small villages which dot the North York Moors National Park. Or visit Whitby, another seaside town with character and an Abbey. Further south, for the bird lovers among you, there is the Bempton Cliffs RSPB nature reserve, famous for its puffins.
