Set close to the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, there are unique finds to be had in the antiques shops that line the streets, local produce to pick up from the deli and plenty of places to stop for something to eat and drink. The gentle waters and sheltered bays along the south coast are within easy reach whether you are tempted to try your hand at some water sports at Polkerris, wild swimming at Menabilly or enjoying a good stomp along the coastal path.
Watch the comings and goings along the water or hop on a boat trip at the fashionable sailing town of Fowey which has a great choice of waterside eateries, independent shops and galleries. Wander the historic harbourside of Charlestown - as featured in the Poldark series - and for garden enthusiasts The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project are a must.
