Situated in the glorious Restormel Estate, surrounded by stunning parkland and rolling countryside, Hutchings is a charming barn conversion close to the south Cornish coast and perfect for a family holiday or romantic escape.

Part of the Duchy of Cornwall, Restormel Estate is an oasis of peace and tranquility, located in the beautiful Fowey Valley close to the pretty town of Lostwithiel, a myriad of gorgeous gardens and pretty fishing villages. Closer to home, guests can take full advantage of the leisure facilities, available to all guests staying on the Estate, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, tennis court and outdoor play area - it really is quite special.

Hutchings is one of six cottages set around a verdant courtyard, which perfectly complements the surroundings and the mature planting creates a wonderful sense of privacy

Step inside and the interiors are beautifully presented whilst retaining the original charm and character of the property. Open plan living is the order of the day, perfect for sociable holidays. The sitting-area has a warming wood-burner making Hutchings an ideal cosy holiday home all year round, and the country-style kitchen has all the equipment you'll need to cook up your holiday meals, along with a collection of cookbooks for inspiration.

The private walled garden is the perfect spot to enjoy dining in the great outdoors or for simply relaxing and taking in the sights and sounds of the countryside.

The estate is surrounded by beautiful parkland with the River Fowey to the front of the Manor, where complimentary fishing is available at certain times of the year. Woodland walks and countryside strolls abound here so don't forget your walking boots. You can hike up to the remains of Restormel Castle (English Heritage) which stands majestically on the hill overlooking the valley or we highly recommend heading through the woodlands to The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery which not only stocks a great choice of plants and gorgeous gifts but serves up some fabulous food in The Cafe and Orangery, a well deserved treat after a morning stroll!

Hutchings is set less than a mile from the little riverside town of Lostwithiel, which offers up a collection of antiques shops, independent shops, pubs and cafes. The utterly charming creekside village of Lerryn is a short drive away. Said to be the inspiration of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows' here you can take the wooded walk along the river which eventually leads to the trendy sailing town of Fowey, another must on your visit to this area.

Horticulturists should visit the mighty biomes of the Eden Project or The Lost Gardens of Heligan, lost in time since WWI, discovered over 30 years ago and now restored to their former glory and glorious they are. There are more gardens and parkland to discover at Lanhydrock (National Trust) along with the historic house and a network of woodland trails that will delight the cyclists amongst you.

However you plan to spend your holiday, Hutchings is the perfect base for all your Cornish adventures, where special holiday memories will be made.
