Wrap yourself in the lap of luxury in this country retreat, that peacefully resides in the heart of this historic estate, surrounded by breathtaking Cornish countryside, ancient woodland, wide open skies and spaces to match, yet only a few miles from the south Cornish coast, it beckons families and friends to savour the most treasured escapes.

Despite the unassuming name, Dairy House is classically beautiful. A dreamy spacious abode set within the west wing of the impressive Restormel Manor, but there is no American presidential heritage here, this one is steeped in the history of our Royal Family, being part of the Duchy of Cornwall Estate.

Warm and relaxing interiors perfectly complement the setting and character of the house. The country-style kitchen/dining-room is the heart of the home and has ample room for keen cooks to flex their culinary creativity while the large sitting-room, with its toasty wood-burner nestled within the huge granite fireplace, is the epitome of laid-back loveliness. With shelves bursting with books and board games, there's plenty to keep you amused on those out-of-season breaks.

Befitting of a country house the three bedrooms are quite beautiful. Each individually styled, the main bedroom with its large windows overlooking the surrounding parkland in the Fowey Valley, separate dressing-area, en suite bathroom and luxury super-king bed is simply dreamy.

Outside the magic continues with a sunny private terrace, where you can enjoy al fresco dinners and summer evening barbecues. At the front, the lawned area is the perfect spot for lazy picnics and family games. Shared with the other two properties within Restormel Manor, there is plenty of room for you all to spread out or perhaps join together and make some new friends along the way.

For further relaxation the Estate has some fantastic leisure facilities, including a tennis court, indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, games-room and play area and for further countryside pursuits, there's complimentary fishing along the River Fowey (seasonal).

Perfectly-placed, there are extensive woodland and countryside walks to discover right from your front door. You can conquer the magical remains of the 13th Century Restormel Castle, that stands on a mound overlooking the Estate or head up to the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery which offers up a great selection of plants, gifts and not to mention food and drink. It's such a treat, it's sure to become a daily visit!

Wander down the lane to the pretty riverside town of Lostwithiel, badged the 'antiques capital of Cornwall' with its collection of antique and interior shops, along with cafes, restaurants and pubs.

When beach days are on the agenda the sheltered bays and gentle waters at Menabilly, Lantic Bay and Polkerris will delight and if sailing is a family favourite pastime head to nearby Fowey. Known for its beautiful old streets full of independent shops, galleries and great eateries, it's a fabulous place to spend the day watching the comings and goings on the water or hop on a boat trip yourself.

A little further down the coast is the old harbour town of Charlestown with its famous tall ships and for garden lovers, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must. If you fancy getting active you can always go kayaking on the River Fowey or enjoy the scenic cycling trails at Cardinham Woods and there are more cycle trails at Lanhydrock, along with the historic house and gardens, it's the jewel in the National Trust's crown in Cornwall.
