Garretts
5341 is no longer with usIf you were looking for cottages like Garretts, how about trying these:
Set in the heart of the magical twinned villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, on the breathtaking Rame peninsula, this lovingly presented Grade II Listed cottage is within walking distance of the beaches, shops and galleries on offer in the villages along with a great choice of places to eat and drink.
Boasting almost 300 years of history, Garretts retains its original charm and character. Over the years it has welcomed guests and customers having been a bistro and the old village bakery - in fact the old cloam oven is still in the kitchen and it's huge - don't panic modern alternatives are available. Now this wonderful holiday haven is waiting to give you a warm welcome as you settle into village life.
Spread across three floors, the living accommodation is on the ground floor. The country-style kitchen sits at the back of the cottage, should you fancy catering for yourselves, but with the smell of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries coming from the 'Old Bakery' right next door (seasonal) you are sure to become a regular customer! There are two cosy sitting-areas, with shelves stacked full of artefacts and a great selection of books to keep the most avid book-worm amused, best enjoyed snuggled up in front of the wood-burning stove.
The layout of the first and second floor is quite unique, a wonderful labyrinth with interconnecting rooms that create a magical home, simply perfect for the best hide and seek game ever! One of the double bedrooms and the triple room, with its own little balcony, sit either side of the family bathroom on the first floor. There's a small cinema room leading off from the triple room, with a large TV and gaming chairs it certainly will keep younger members entertained, and from here a spiral staircase leads up to a wonderfully light and airy single bedroom.
Bedrooms four and five are also on the second floor, accessed up a separate flight of stairs from the main landing, and the fabulous roof terrace can be reached from the fifth bedroom. This is a wonderfully sheltered area at the back of the house, where you can fire up the barbecue and cook up some fresh local produce.
