SinglePerfectly situated in the idyllic waterside village of Flushing, Trevennen Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage, beautifully restored and stylishly furnished to capture the very essence of holiday living. Traditional features marry seamlessly with contemporary furnishings here, making this the ideal abode for either a family holiday or friends looking for a Cornish retreat.
From the moment you arrive in Flushing, driving along pretty countryside lanes with estuary views, you will be charmed. Trevennen Cottage sits in the centre of the village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just stone's throw away from the water's edge. Positioned in a row of similar terraced cottages, the front door leads into the stylishly furnished sitting-room with a feature fireplace and wood-burning stove, making this an ideal year-round location. Behind the sitting-area, the dining-table provides the perfect place to gather round for a meal, or perhaps an evening of board games. To the rear of the cottage, you will find a small kitchen with all the equipment you will need to cook a holiday meal.
A contemporary glass-sided staircase leads to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms, decorated in cool white shades and dressed in pretty linens, and the family shower-room. Steep ladder steps lead from the first floor to the second floor snug/bedroom (please take care on the steps as they are steep and should only be used by adults or children over the age of eight), and this room has a cosy sofa where you can catch up on some holiday reading after a busy day. The sofa converts into a single bed (4') which can accommodate a fifth guest but please note this is to be used by an adult or a child over the age of 12 only.
Outside the back door, a secluded patio provides the perfect spot for your morning coffee. A stone staircase leads steeply up the side of the cottage to reveal a fabulous decked seating area, surrounded by trees, which overlooks the rooftops and offers a bird's eye view towards the Carrick Roads and Falmouth. Please take great care when using the steps as they are steep in places and may be slippery when wet.
Whether you are looking for a quiet coastal retreat or a family holiday with the dog, Trevennen Cottage has all the ingredients for a magical getaway.
Babies up to the age of 12 months and children aged four and over are welcomed at this property.
Flushing is a charming, quintessential Cornish village, with gorgeous creekside walks from the door, a village store and waterside pubs and cafes. A holiday here could be spent car free, exploring your dreamy surroundings and enjoying the sand and shingle beach just a short stroll away. We think one of the nicest walks takes you from the village, around Trefusis Point to Mylor. You could have a light lunch at Mylor cafe, or dinner and drinks at Castaways where you can sit out on the quay, enjoying the sunshine (and its dog-friendly too!).
If you do decide to travel further afield you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to places to visit. Take the five minute passenger ferry from the quayside across the bay to the maritime town of Falmouth, bursting with a great selection of eclectic shops, eateries and a fabulous maritime museum. You can hop on a boat here to St Mawes and Trelissick (National Trust) too! Falmouth is also home to three gorgeous sandy beaches, all with beachside cafes and offering seasonal kayak and paddleboard hire, with the additional benefit of lessons if you're a beginner or are looking to hone your skills.
The gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan are beautiful year-round and definitely worth a visit, or perhaps try Trelissick, where you can walk for miles along well-maintained footpaths enjoying the waterside views and reward yourself with a delicious cream tea or slice of cake in the cafe afterwards.
However you plan to spend your blissful holiday days, Trevennen Cottage is perfectly located for all your Cornish adventures.
