Find your 'Far from the Madding Crowd' moment in the beautiful west Dorset countryside with a stay at Ginny's Barn. This characterful cottage offers compact, quaint accommodation, set in the grounds of the owners' home. and offers a peaceful retreat for those wanting to explore the Jurassic Coastline and the interesting villages and towns nearby.

Through the garden gate, take the winding path up to the cottage where your 'home-from-home' awaits you. The whole cottage has a calm and fresh feel - the welcoming living area with kitchen makes a lovely room to enjoy in the summer with the door to the garden open and also in the winter when you can cosy up in front of the wood-burner.

The dining-area is only a few steps up from the main living space - the perfect place for breakfast before starting your day. The first bedroom is bright and light; an oasis of peace to enjoy. After a few more steps again, you will find the shower-room next to the second bedroom, which enjoys views over the garden and the village. The friendly owners live next door and the garden is shared with them, however, there is a table and chairs for guests to enjoy exclusively.

Shipton Gorge is well placed to visit the bustling market town of Bridport, where twice a week you will find an interesting market to discover and also Burton Bradstock, with its National Trust beach. From the door you can explore on foot the paths and byways that scatter the surrounding area; why not stop at The New Inn on the way back for a drink and a night off from cooking.

Further afield, take a day to enjoy the county town of Dorchester with its many museums and cafes. Head to Weymouth for a traditional day on the beach or a stroll round the harbour - the ideal spot for fish and chips!
