Looking over to the open countryside The Granary is a beautifully designed, renovated farm property with four bedrooms sleeping up to nine, tucked away on the side of the Birdforth Hall complex which boasts a large indoor swimming pool and games area. It is perfect for those looking for quality and luxury in a rural setting. The rooms are all well-proportioned with views from many of the windows and lovely beamed ceilings giving a nod to the history of this building. Whether you are looking for a relaxing stay in the Yorkshire countryside or wishing to explore the moors, dales or bustling towns of Harrogate and Ripon or the city of York, the choice really is yours.

Nestled within this small farm, The Granary is a little gem just waiting to be enjoyed by family and friends. You step into the well-equipped kitchen where the French windows open onto the patio from where you can see some of the four-legged residents including Bella the pig, who comes when called, and horses Rhubarb and Revel. The central kitchen island is ideal to prepare meals to remember and the adjoining dining area with its large farmhouse table is just the place to enjoy them. The adjacent sitting-room is very spacious and a perfect place to gather and relax together, play a board game or just enjoy a favourite film. The wood-burner will keep you all warm and toasty whatever the season.

The Granary has four luxurious bedrooms and three beautifully appointed bathrooms. All furnished in restful tones, the two main bedrooms have comfy king-sized beds, crisp white linen and en suite bathrooms with original beams and far-reaching views. The two further bedrooms provide flexibility for adults and children alike. One has twin beds and the other has a single bed and bunk-beds, what children would not love a room like this. The family bathroom has a bath and shower cubicle, a wonderful place to soak tired legs after a hike on the North York Moors.

The luxury doesn't stop here, outside The Granary has a delightful private garden, again with views of the fields. The children will have plenty of space for a ball game or two. Why not enjoy a soak in the hot tub with a glass of something bubbly in hand, you can even take a dip in inclement weather with the useful gazebo cover. Take a seat at the outdoor table and chairs and relax with a glass of wine, with a barbecue to keep the chef busy a dinner al fresco is definitely on the cards. The Granary is dog-friendly so your pooch can enjoy a stay in Yorkshire too. Everyone will love the large indoor swimming pool which has specific allocated times for private use, or enjoy a game of pool in the games area, great for inclement weather days.

The Granary can be booked together with The Stables, The Byre and Mill House, and can be used for weddings and celebrations. Optional extras are offered by the host such as a private chef, longhorn beef from the estate, DIY full English breakfast, home-made oven ready meals and a honeymooner's welcome package.

Situated in the Vale of York, The Granary is perfectly placed with the North York Moors to the east and the Yorkshire Dales to the west. The closest town is Thirsk, only minutes away and with a distinct charm all of its own. The cobbled market square is surrounded by shops and restaurants and holds traditional markets twice a week on Mondays and Saturdays. Famous for its association with James Herriot, the Yorkshire Vet, whose veterinary surgery is now a world class museum and worth a visit.

There is Thirsk racecourse if you fancy a flutter and walks and cycle tracks too numerous to mention. Explore the ancient abbeys of Rievaulx, Byland and Fountains Abbey or drive over the moors to the most iconic of them all, Whitby Abbey.

York is only 20 miles away with its medieval walls, historic minster and vibrant shopping and nightlife.

If you want to dip your toes into the sea and laze on the beach the east coast towns of Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes are within easy distance.

Book a special treat at one of the two local Michelin star restaurants, The Black Swan at Oldstead or The Star at Harome. The local pub, the Old Black Bull is four miles away at Raskelf.

For the more energetic, cycling is ever popular since the Tour de Yorkshire in 2016, try out the famous climbs of Boltby Bank, Cote De Grosmont and the infamous Rosedale Chimney Bank.

Whatever you decide to do, one visit will never be enough, that's why guests return time and time again.
