DoubleLooking for the ultimate get away from it all holiday retreat? Well gather up family and friends to discover the magic at Far View and create cherished holiday memories along the way.
This is one very special holiday home by anyone's standards. Tucked away at the end of a countryside track with panoramic views that stretch for miles across open countryside (it certainly lives up to its name), unwind from the hubbub of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature with the peace and tranquility all around.
The surroundings are spectacular, and you can really soak up the scenery from the sunny terrace area complete with its fabulous outdoor kitchen that will delight all budding chefs. Meals are best enjoyed al fresco style served up at the largest of garden tables, positioned perfectly to enjoy the view.
Inside, this large sprawling house will delight as there is oodles of space for all 14 guests to gather and plenty of options to find some quiet space on your own - hide and seek is a must! It's just the place for large family holidays, groups of friends staying together or marking a special event or occasion. The spacious sitting/reception room is waiting to welcome you. The bi-fold doors really let the outside in and ensure you enjoy the surroundings whatever the weather and the cosy area in front of the toasty wood-burner is perfect for those out-of-season breaks. The kitchen/breakfast-room is so well-equipped and the place to serve up a quick snack, but holiday meals will be a real treat when served up in the dining-room, with a table large enough for all 14 . What conversations and debates will be had.
Maybe a cinema experience is on the agenda. If so, set up your chairs, prepare the popcorn and pull down the screen that sits just inside the bi-fold doors in the sitting-room and watch a great holiday movie - what a treat!
The beautiful bedrooms are set over two floors. Three on the ground floor and three on the first, giving everyone plenty of privacy and space, two have en suite facilities and there's another bathroom and a further shower-room for everyone to access so plenty of bathing options.
You would be forgiven for not wanting to leave this magic idyll but even with this middle of nowhere feeling, it's a great base for exploring, whether it's the countryside or coast that appeals. There are miles of wonderful walks right on your doorstep so set yourself up for the day with a good stomp across heathered moorland, open farmland and wooded valleys.
The local villages of St Breward and Blisland are only a couple of miles away, each have their own community shop for those essential provisions, a calendar of annual events and most importantly a village pub. The start of the renowned Camel Trail is close by so why not use some pedal power and discover the 17 mile trail that leads down the valley and all the way along the estuary to Padstow on the north coast - don't panic you don't have to do it all in one day!
You may prefer to take the car to Padstow, Cornwall's culinary capital, and treat yourself to one of the many great places to eat and drink or simply wander the streets browsing the shops and galleries. A day at the picture-perfect Port Isaac will delight fans of TV's 'Doc Martin', The Fisherman's Friends and celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw, and if you want a day at the seaside Polzeath and Daymer will not disappoint.
