Come and treat yourself to a wonderful holiday in this picture perfect cottage, set in the peaceful creekside village of Golant on the banks of the River Fowey. With views of the tidal waters over to the ancient woodland beyond, this is a water lover's paradise and a fabulous year round retreat to explore what has to be one of the prettiest parts of Cornwall.

Stylish and serene, Orchard Cottage has been lovingly restored to create a calm and relaxing home, that perfectly marries original features with modern day living. Adults will enjoy relaxing on the sunny terrace, soaking in the surroundings whilst younger members play on the lawn and if the weather is being a little temperamental, take refuge in the spacious kitchen/dining-room, where the large double doors ensure you can still enjoy all that is around.

Cuddle up to watch a holiday movie in the snug, or if you prefer to simply enjoy time together, relax in the lounge with the flickering flames of the toasty wood-burner adding to the occasion on chiller evenings. The downstairs shower-room has a large walk-in shower perfect to set you up for the day or when you want a quick rinse off after a day at the beach and if you would rather indulge in a leisurely soak, head up to the bathroom on the first floor. Here you will also find three of the bedrooms, the ultimate sanctuaries to ensure you have a great night's sleep, two with views over the front garden and the river beyond…bliss. For two guests there is the luxury of the adjoining annexe, completely self contained with a lounge and kitchenette on the ground floor and a double bedroom with en suite bathroom on the first floor.

Want to catch up with the locals, it's only a short walk to The Fisherman's Arms, a traditional village pub that serves up a warm welcome and if you enjoy messing about on the water, head to the Boatshed on the waterfront for kayak and paddle board hire as well as wildlife and waterfront tours. If you prefer to stay on terra firma, there are miles of wonderful walks along the river, through the woods and beyond for you to explore.

You can follow the footpath or pop in the car to the trendy sailing town of Fowey with its narrow streets lined with independent shops and great eateries, and a little further down the coast is the village of Charlestown where historic tall ships rest in the harbour. For garden enthusiasts the iconic Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must as are the gardens at Lanhydrock, where you can also visit the historic house, wander the parkland or perhaps take to two wheels along their network of cycle trails - all in all, there's a world of adventures on your doorstep!
