Oh my what a wonderful place this is for an escape to the magical harbourside village of Charlestown, nestled on Cornwall's captivating south coast.
Set in the heart of the village with views of the harbour and out to sea, this home-from-home terraced cottage invites you to immerse yourself in all that this fabulous village has to offer. Wander from your door to the magnificent tall ships moored in the harbour, the shops and galleries, the beaches and coastal footpath and not to mention the numerous places to eat and drink or better still why not relax in the garden with a good book or enjoy holiday meals on the terrace and watch the comings and goings from this jackpot location.
Step into the open plan living place where you are sure to enjoy special times together, whether preparing hearty holiday breakfasts, indulging in culinary delights around the dining-table or cosied up together on the sofa watching a family film on the Apple TV. The main bedroom takes pride of place at the front of the house enjoying those coastal views, with the added luxury of an en suite shower-room. All bedrooms have their own TV, perfect for holiday lie-ins but with so much right on your doorstep you'll be keen to get up and out and about and start exploring.
Charlestown has a fantastic selection of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and street food pop ups so you certainly won't be short of places to eat! There's a selection of stylish boutique shops and galleries if you fancy a spot of retail therapy and on warm summer evenings wander along the pretty harbour, marvelling at the historic tall ships whilst picking up a treat from one of the street food stalls.
If you're in search of those fabulous coastal views synonymous with Cornwall then lace up your walking boots, pack a picnic and head out for a scenic walk along the coastal path where the views will take your breath away. Or enjoy lazy days on the beach, building sandcastles and taking the odd dip in the crystal-clear waters. If you're a Poldark fan, Charlestown was one of the favoured locations for filming the popular TV series, so you can seek out the filming locations and walk in the footsteps of Poldark himself!
If you do fancy venturing further afield St Austell Bay is dotted with a number of golden sand beaches and there's a fantastic choice of gardens to visit, including Heligan, Pinetum, Marsh Villa and of course, the Eden Project. The stylish sailing town of Fowey is nearby, and is well worth a visit for its restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries or perhaps to kayak up the river to the little village of Lerryn, said to be the inspiration of Kenneth Graham's Wind in the Willows.
