Penzance is the beating heart of west Cornwall, with shops, restaurants and beaches all close at hand. If you are spending time exploring this eclectic town visit Morrab Gardens a gorgeous sub-tropical haven hidden away behind a walled garden. Whilst you are there try The Orangery Cafe for delicious home-made cakes and wander around Penlee Gallery where local artists display their work.

Stroll along the promenade to take in the fabulous seascapes and perhaps call in at the fabulous art deco Jubilee Pool, warmed by geo-thermal springs. Further east along the promenade St Michael's Mount (National Trust) stands majestically out to sea. At low tide walk along the causeway to the entrance and at high tide a ferryboat will transport you. To the west the gorgeous fishing town of Newlyn has lots of choices when it comes to dining out. If you choose to travel further afield St Ives is aways a great choice with sandy beaches, cobbled streets and fabulous galleries. Park at St Erth and catch the train from there, it really is one of the most picturesque journeys you will ever make!

Watersports enthusiasts will revel in the opportunities of west Cornwall. Mount's Bay is popular with kite surfers whilst Sennen Cove and Hayle provide a great backdrop for surfers taking to the Atlantic waves.
