If you are looking for a holiday which offers history, culture and charm, surrounded by stunning countryside, Lantern Cottage offers the perfect package. Step out of the property and only moments away you will find yourself on the eclectic and rather special Totnes High Street, let the magic begin!

Simply strolling around Totnes, witnessing all it has to offer, is an attraction in itself. With several museums, art galleries, a community-owned cinema and a steam railway on your doorstep, there's never a dull moment in this spectacular town. Totnes offers a plethora of shops, boutiques and even a weekly market where numerous local traders flood the market square with stalls, supplying everything you could possibly imagine. There's a wide choice of cafes, restaurants and friendly high street pubs, all ready with a warm welcome to serve up that lunchtime or evening treat. Add to this the fabulous walks from your doorstep; head upriver to the Dartington Estate or downriver through beautiful rolling countryside.

Not forgetting that the glorious south Devon coastline is only a short car, bus or train journey away. Offering the most glorious sandy and pebble beaches. There are numerous magical beaches and coves to be explored in Brixham, Dartmouth, Slapton and Bigbury-on-Sea to name just a few destinations. That unforgettable family day on the beach awaits. Dartmoor, with its stunning walks and scenery, is also just 15 minutes away by car or train.

Lantern Cottage is just a few minutes' walk from Totnes train station and with good public transport available locally is suitable for those travelling without a car.

Following a full day of exploring, a warm welcome awaits; Lantern Cottage offers two lovely bedrooms, an open plan living-room with a cosy feel, and should you wish to escape to a quiet space with a good book, a staircase leads up from the living-room, into the wonderful mezzanine (suitable for adults and children over seven only). Or perhaps finishing the day with a glass of something tasty whilst relaxing in your private courtyard sounds just the ticket, if so, Lantern Cottage caters perfectly.

This property is available for short breaks most of the year, outside of school holidays and also with flexible changeover dates - please contact our sales team for more information.

Whether it be a family vacation or friends meeting to enjoy the delights of the nearby eateries and superb wine bars, Lantern Cottage provides the perfect all year round venue. Totnes is teeming with activity and things to see and take part in, from street markets on a Friday and Saturday to a medieval castle a short stroll away. Should you wish to venture further afield, you are spoilt for choice, from river or kayak trips on the beautiful River Dart to the sandy beaches of Broadsands.

Within a short drive (or a rather longer walk), you are surrounded by beauty and activity galore, such as the Sharpham vineyard, which is just three miles away, definitely worth a trip! Totnes and the surrounding areas also offer an array of days out for the younger members of your group.
